So what do y'all think of Daiwa and more specifically the Procyon?

I just picked up a Procyon 3000 and slapped it on a 7' ft rod. Casts a mile with the flick of the wrist. For the price I'm really satisfied.

It casts just as well as my Stradics and reels just as smooth if not smoother.

Daiwa has come far over the past couple years.

I have a daiwa Procyon 3000 on a Procyon rod. I am very very pleased! Been fishing it. Couple months now. Reel is smooth bail is nice and free. I couldn't be happier with mine. The drag is nice and sensitive also

I have a 2500 on a 7' micro magic pro and it's my favorite spinning combo yet. It seems like it has a very wide range of drag adjustment. Its a very nice reel. I would suggest it.

Don't own the reel but my previous gen procyon UL rod is great. The new ones seemed to be a step down in quality but still a great value, imo.

Can't speak to the Procyon reels, but I do own

two Stradic 1000FI reels, and one Lexa 2000SH

reel.

I've compared the Lexa quite favorably to the

Stradics in terms of smoothness. I really like the

very positive feel of Daiwa's bail system, a tad

more than I like Shimano's.

But (granted, there's a size difference) I much

prefer the lightness and gear ratio of my Stradics.

If I had extra $$ laying around, I'd love to try one

of the new Ballistics.

Thumbs up to the Procyon. Piece by piece I am upgrading from my old Stradics. Overall much better. Only thing I don't like is for my taste it takes too much revolution of the drag knob to make a difference, as in if you suddenly tie into a big one.

not sure if you're being facetious? it's been daiwa and shimano and then everyone else for awhile now.

I have a Lexa 2500 and am very impressed. Very smooth, and balances right above the reel seat with my new Loomis sjr782. Couldn't be happier.

Would love to get my hands on a procyon, but no one has any locally.
