Just ordered the Ez spiderwire fluoro line 12&15lb. But I've seen bad reviews for this. Never have tried this kind of line before, but is it not a good brand of line? Any other suggestions on brands of fluoro line? Thanks for the help

Seaguar, If you're looking cheap. I know some guys on here like Sunline Super.

Try it and let us know how the line performs.

You don't know how the line was stored, abused or thrown into situations where the test was too low so don't take what others say.

Give it a whack and make up your own mind.

I use Spider Wire but have not had any problems with other brands of braid.

As for flouro line (sorry, missed that part of your question) I use brands such as Sunline and Yo Zuri plus the various types of PLine.

I fish tournaments and with changing the line after each tournament I go through a lot of flouro and so far none have failed me.

Seaguar Red Label or Sunline FC Sniper if you don't mind spending a little more. Also pick up a bottle of KVD Line & Lure.

What? Wow, I don't think that is necessary at all, even if you are sponsored.

Back to the OP, Why not ask or look through a few pages in this section before

buying an "unknown"? There are a lot of good, better and great fluorocarbon

lines and I don't know that your choice is one of them. I have never heard the

line mentioned or recommended.

Yea spiderwire FC has a lot of bad reviews all around the internet. When I was researching lines last season I quickly scratched it off my list of potentials. Spiderwire is technically a "berkley" product (both are pure fishing) but I fell in love with the trilene 100% FC professional grade they came out with last year. I replaced my sufix FC with trilene.

That being said even though something has consistently bad reviews, it doesn't mean it won't be sufficient for your needs. If you already own it, give it a chance until it gives you a reason not to like it. You very well could be happy with it.

Yeah ill give it a try. Just was wondering. And to see what everyone else used or prefered. Thanks for the tips great help

Sunline Super Sniper is $25-$30 for 200 yard spool. You don't need more than 100 yards of line on a bass reel, use less expensive mono for filler, then top off with 100 yards of FC line.

TT has their FPI rating system and Tatsu came out #1 and $45/200 yds, Sunline wasn't tested to date.

If you saw bad reviews, why did you order it lol?

Tatsu gets my vote.

I replace mine frequently as well, sometimes day to day if I'm using a particular rod a whole lot.  Line is a consumable product to me, I don't hesitate to change it out.  I usually replace line after 1 or 2 full days of heavy use (meaning actual usage time, not just time spooled or time on the deck).  I know that I change it more than most but that's just how I roll, it works for me :).

To the OP...Flouro reviews/recommendations are tricky to navigate.  If it is your first time using flouro remember that it IS different from other lines you will have used.  Go easy on your first few casts and prepare yourself for the learning curve.  Give the line you bought a try, figure out what you like and don't like and then go from there.  If you don't like it at all, you'll at least know what it is that you don't like so that you can research for your next purchase.  (FWIW, my choice for flouro gets it's fair share of poor reviews but I find it to be an excellent line...Reviews don't always tell the whole story)

I saw the bad reviews after I ordered it lol. Have never used fluoro before and saw it was kinda cheap to try since I hadn't before. Since I usually you senkos, wanted to see if it made a difference.

If I told everyone on BR that I have had a bunch of problems every time I tried fluorocarbon, would you all get mad at me? Probably 5-6 brands. It may be me, in fact it may be me, but I just do not enjoy fishing with it.

I would think most reviewers use there line for more than 24hrs of fishing, and therefore have a different perspective of the line than someone changing it out after each use.  Maybe its just me, but if I had no more confidence in a line that I felt I had to change so often I wouldn't use it.

Can you go into more detail on the learning curve?

It's not a huge deal, some new users are a little more prone to backlashing...But taking it easy for the first few will help you adjust.  Wet your knots and check for fraying periodically, but that should be standard practice with any line already :).  As long as you know that it will handle differently you'll be ahead of the curve.

I don't change it because the line suddenly becomes poorer in quality.  It is still usable, I just prefer to replace it for a few different reasons.  Most guys I know have a similar methodology.  It's common to see guys respooling a few rods in the evenings on our tournament trips...Not saying one way is right and the other is wrong, just pointing out that this is not an uncommon practice.
