Hi,

As I mentioned in topic, I am searching for proper gear grease specifically for duralumin gear in my revo mgx. I've checked already several greases, like CRC Super Adhesive Grease, Super Lube with PTFE, Shimano DG10, DG06. No one of them seemed stay connected to the gear teeth for longer than an hour of reeling, and smooth feeling is gone too after a while ... in fact now, it's annoying squeaky noise of gearing work ...

But I'm still searching, can someone help ?

I've had good results with Quantum "Hot sauce"

Grease, it spreads really well.. I like it...I have used it on Daiwa's & Shimano's. The Fuego was coined a duralumin gearing as well.. No issues for me..you sure there's not another issue going on though?

The gear material is not the problem. Those are all suitable grease choices. My general preference is either  a marine grease or Cals/Shimano drag grease. The Hot sauce oil is ok if the red dye on everything doesn't bother you, but the grease gums up too much for me to use or recommend.

nope, all other looks just fine. Issue is only with grease. Can't find suitable for aluminium. No problem at all with other my reels equipped with brass gears, they just work flawlessly with every grease i have mentioned. MGX is such exception ...

I Have talked with guys from heavy tech. industries, they have told me that duralumin is quite difficult in case to find enough sticky lube, they suggested Molykote g-1502 fm, or horrible expensive Krytox xht - bdx ...

by the way, thanks for Yours suggestions, maybe i give a chance to hot sauce too,

one question : is it hot sauce = mobilith shc 100/220/460 ?

which one from Cal's? Tan, Purple ? I'm not familiar with them ...

a lot of reel gears are made of duralumin nowadays. I never heard of people having trouble with lubing duralumin gears. It is very possible that there is another issue. one missing washer could cause the reel to squeak too, it happened to me one time :)

So,  only they know the magic answer - so far ...

despite I've checked all again, during 1/4 handle rotation still feels the vibrations from the teeth and annoying sound.

Super Lube grease left a very thin film on the teeth, and the rest is scattered around.

@livewireksu - looks that you are lucky one !

You should only have a thin film on the teeth that you can feel, but barely see. Your issue is probably too much grease.

If the gears get rough again after a few hours of use after you grease them they may just be worn. No amount or type of grease will help if the gears are worn.
