BigOleTBone Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Hey Y'all! Looking to get down to the Alexandria, LA area this weekend and looking for somewhere to stay Friday and Saturday night. A lakeside resort/campground would be nice, but we'd like to rent a cabin and a boat if possible. Anyone know of anything??? I've scoured the interwebs and can't seem to find anything concrete. Thanks for looking! Quote
BigOleTBone Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 We've found lodging at Uncle Bud's Cabins on Larto Lake sow e're set for accommodations! So my question for anyone who comes across this post...Are you going or thinking about going fishing on Friday and/or Saturday 2/20 & 2/21/15. I know this is forward of me, but maybe we could connect and go out fishing together. Me and a buddy are driving down from Milwaukee this weekend and would love to go fishing with a local. We'd buy beer and pay for gas. If this is a remote possibility, PM me! Nothing creepy, just fishing! Quote
Dalton Tam Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Well I can't promise that I'll be free this weekend quite yet. With a rigorous work and school schedule, I just don't know what will happen from day to day. I can tell you this, they have started to bite there. With the cold weather rolling in this week, I can't make any promises that they will continue to bite as well as they have. Here are some pictures from the last couple of days out on the water. The second photo was taken after the front blew in. It was so warm at the beginning of the trip that you could wear a T-shirt on the boat ride, then after 30 mph winds hit, rain, and the temp dropped about 20 degrees. The water temp dropped about 2 degrees while I was out on the water. If you go, we've been catching them on big bite craws (almost the same as a Paca Craw in Pumpkin green. But the most productive bait has been any spinnerbait that has a light wire and a big colorado blade to slow roll. They want it slow around the trees and button wood bushes. They wouldn't hit a willow leaf blade as well. I guess their metabolism is still slow and they want some vibration to make them actively strike. PM me and maybe we can figure out whether or not I'll be free to show y'all around. If not, maybe I can at least steer you in the right direction. Quote
TylerRoshto Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Man if I would be here me and a buddy would hook up with you guys and show you the lake. We are fishing a tournament on Toledo Bend on the 21st tho. There are many lakes in Central Louisiana. The Red River (Colfax area), Larto/Saline Lake, Indian Creek, Cotile Lake, and Kincaid Lake are all good lakes to fish! Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Indian creek, cotile, Kincaid? I can't catch a cold on those lakes lol! Quote
