Super User J Francho Posted February 24, 2015 Super User Posted February 24, 2015 Lol, I'm down to knotty chunks of elm and walnut that simply will not split. If it gets any colder, I may start burning furniture. 1 Quote

Catch 22 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I used to have 2-1/2 story farm house dated back to 18 something. Firewood was the only feasible fuel to not go broke . It was fantastic heat. Next place had oil, cast iron baseboard,it was nice ,but it wasn`t wood. Now, heat pump .First five yrs I hated it. Two positives. It makes AC in the summer and my bills are very reasonable. High bill so far was about $210. The next one may set a record. C 22 Quote

wnybassman Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Natural gas and forced air furnace. I cut and split a bunch of wood every year, but not a stick of it is used to heat with. Quote

RSM789 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 The week before last, we heated the house by opening the windows. By 2;00 pm, it got too warm, so we had to shut them & turn on the AC. You asked... Quote
