I wear tennis shoes 100% of the time.  I dont mind it at all, except in the rain in the spring and fall.  Wet socks are pretty much the most uncomfortable thing in the world, especially when its cool outside... Ive considered getting some cheap rubber boots to wear for rainy days.  Im a bit concerned the boots will be uncomfortable to wear all day though.  I will get some insoles, but will that be enough to make rubber boots somewhat comfortable?  What do you all wear?

I wear running shoes most of the time when I fish.  I only buy the ones that are gortex so wet feet are not a problem for me.

Me too.

Often I can be seen with Tingley`s 9" rubber over boot. Light weight pull on provides  some additional warmth ,good to about 40 deg with sneakers.====Put a plastic shopping bag over  shoe so the boot slips on/off easier.

I only bank fish right now. I usually wear a leather waterproof work type boot, but i just ordered a pair of Merrill waterproof hiking boots. If it gets colder i just put on some thick winter socks. If I know it's gonna be a little swampy or muck I put on a pair of rubber, and  insulated muck boots.

I looked around a bunch last year and was going to buy some Merrells. Looks like they would have been a good choice. However, i got some Salomons as a gift, and have been real happy with them. I had never even heard of them before. I have the XA Pro 3D Ultra 2GTX, they are a mountain trail shoe, and have been perfect for bank fishing. I definitely recommend them for anyone trekking along the banks and looking to stay dry. Good all season, just need some nice warm or extra socks in winter if I can get out.
