Super User F14A-B Posted February 16, 2015 Super User Posted February 16, 2015 Yes but I am saying that the majority of fineese fishing is done with spinning gear. Honestly, who would want to throw a weightless senko on baitcasting gear? Look at what all the pros use. For fishing weightless, finesse plastics, almost all use spinning rigs. I'm not trying to offend anybody, but am just voicing my opinion. I throw weightless senkos with bait casting gear.. I don't have a issue being able to throw a 4" senko. Weighless elaztech finesse, wacky rigged or tricks wacky rigged I do use spinning... Quote
Jsinkic Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 Do you have to be at 7'2" exactly or can you go down to 7' or up to say a 7'6" ? I'm asking because you can get a Fenwick HMG in a 7'ML-F or a 7'6" ML-F right at $100. At the $100 mark there are a lot of good rods, we all have our favorites and I recommend the HMG because I'm familiar with it and guys that are familiar with the *** Black rods will recommend those and they wouldn't be wrong. This is where you have to look and see which rod appeals to you, the HMG has a full grip and the handle is thin so you may not care for that and so you move on but everyone will put a suggestion out there and then you need to see what appeals to you that will fit your needs, good luck. This has been a great help! I will forsure check out the HMG and with the thinner handle it might be what I am looking for. Thanks for the great help. Quote
Fishinthefish Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Twice stated, twice wrong. A lot of guys use baitcasting for finesse fishing. I, for one, me for another. There, that's two right off the top of my head. Hootie I also do. Being able to thumb your spool while you play the finesse game is highly beneficial. Just me myself and other me's opinion. Quote
Tyler j Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Get a custom your builder can do anything and its like a piece of art pm me for pics of my recent build. It's a total diffrent experience, from your regular rod. If you like the handle a certain way done that's how it is. Really the only way to go. The blanks are spines also 1 Quote
Batson Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 build your own or have someone build it for you. This way you get everything you like even down to the color Quote

On this site the super majority will go spinning. Out of 40000 plus members not 2% probably use casting finesse so a ? concerning finesse goes to spinning unless specified. Quote
Super User Teal Posted February 18, 2015 Super User Posted February 18, 2015 The the right reel matched up with the right rod,you can fish weightless plastics on casting gear and even do it in tight spots that require skipping and pin point casting. I do both. Senkos and more dense platics, I'll fish on a medium casting rod. But for the pin point precision skips and roll casts I'll generally just use a spinning set up. Op, if why not go with a used Cumara since.ypu already like them. Ebay can be your friend. Quote
