-ebby- Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 do these cabela's epoxy packets work as good as some of the others? it is supposed to mix it perfectly and i wouldn't be needing to use them alot just here and there link-http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0003611315389a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=epoxy&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=epoxy&noImage=0 Quote
Super User .RM. Posted March 4, 2008 Super User Posted March 4, 2008 Yeah they work as described. I use them when I do a balance job on factory rods. Just fold the two halves and cut the end off, and squeeze the contents out onto and foil sheet, or into a mixing cup and stir for about 1 min. You only have about 3 to 5 mins working time at 75°. It is a true 5 min epoxy. Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!! Quote
Daiwa Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Or the devcon stuff at walmart. Just stay away from the target stuff! Im a rc plane pilot so Im buying epoxy all the time! Quote

Super User .RM. Posted March 4, 2008 Super User Posted March 4, 2008 If your using the epoxy on lures, I would make sure that it is water proof. Just my .02¢ Quote

Super User .RM. Posted March 8, 2008 Super User Posted March 8, 2008 Don't know never used it, and don't really care. 8-) Everything I work with, is manufactured water proof and for use with lure and rod production. Hence the quote..... Quote
eaglesfn68 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 if i were you i wouldnt get my epoxy at cabelas. If i were you i would go to a local hobby store and pick up some water proof epoxy. That stuff looked expensive so if you buy epoxy then mix it it'll be cheaper and you'll get more. i build model rockets and go through a ton of epoxy and thats the cheapest way. and BTW mixing epoxy isnt really that hard. this is what i use and for making lures it should last you a while. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBH69&P=ML Quote
Super User flechero Posted March 11, 2008 Super User Posted March 11, 2008 Do you not like devcon? Be careful in using general purpose epoxies... devcon 5 minute is only water resistant but the 30 minute is waterproof... there is a big difference and most people don't notice that. Quote
