The side plate is flatter than other 50 size models making it even nicer to palm. At least for me. I haven't used a ton of different gear, but it's one of my favorite reels I've ever used. Quote

They actually came out with 2 Aldebarans this year, the BFS XG Limited with a super shallow spool. So you weren't mistaken. Then the all new model that is not pure BFS Quote

Then the all new model that is not pure BFS Roger that. I wasn't being accurate in saying the old model then. I have the bfs. But comparing the bfs to the newly released probably wasnt the best comparison. Quote
