Super User Jrob78 Posted February 15, 2015 Super User Posted February 15, 2015 I got to handle one today. It's crazy light and tiny. I wasn't able to put it on a rod but it felt solid for how small and light it is. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted February 15, 2015 Super User Posted February 15, 2015 Yup, still wanna know if it's mag. Or ci4+ anyone found out for sure? Quote

Super User F14A-B Posted February 15, 2015 Super User Posted February 15, 2015 Not even a little bit. They ugly. LOL! Noooo it's sexy...!! Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted February 15, 2015 Super User Posted February 15, 2015 How do it feel in your hand? What do you think of the knobs? It felt like it would need to go on a really light rod or it wouldn't balance well at all. The reel almost seemed too small. Other than that it felt great. It felt solid and smooth. I liked the knobs a lot. 1 Quote
JeziHogg Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 What can you compare the size of it too? Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted February 15, 2015 Super User Posted February 15, 2015 It kind of reminded me of some of the really small Daiwa reels, (Pixy, Alphas, etc) only it seemed smaller. It could be because it is so light that it seemed smaller than it really is. I wish I could have put it on a rod to get a better idea of the size. Quote
bootytrain Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Im ordering one from Japan as soon as I see them available. 4.7 oz is crazy light Quote
bootytrain Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Yup, still wanna know if it's mag. Or ci4+ anyone found out for sure? Magnesium frame, Ci4+ sideplates Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted February 15, 2015 Super User Posted February 15, 2015 Magnesium frame, Ci4+ sideplates Wow! I'd have to have a custom made to facilitate a reel this light, sounds sweet to me.. Quote

The reel almost seemed too small. Other than that it felt great. It felt solid and smooth. I liked the knobs a lot. I grabbed my Core50 and took the handle, nut, drag star and spool off of it (gotta be an ounce lighter) and put it on some of my rods. The lighter the rod the better the feel in hand. Smoke rod felt the best and Helios right there. The heavier rods like *** Crucial LTB didnt feel the greatest the Crucial LTB for sure cause the balance was off the most. I need to get something with my$300 giffcards at Gander so will be waiting for 1. they get them and 2. a sale they usually have like $50 off $400 spent or $100 off $500 and get Ald and another smoke rod. Super User Jeff H Posted February 15, 2015 Super User Posted February 15, 2015 Wow. 4.7 oz is insane! What kind of line capacity do they offer? Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted February 15, 2015 Super User Posted February 15, 2015 Wow. 4.7 oz is insane! What kind of line capacity do they offer? mono 10/105, 12/85, 14/70 braid 20/115, 30/105, 40/80 Quote
kschultz76 Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 The reel is certainly sexy and has my attention. I'm getting a Metanium first for sure though. Right now my arsenal is full of very versatile rods that do more then one thing well. This reel seems very pitching/flipping oriented so if I have a dedicated rig for that someday this may be the reel for it. The rod that does a lot of the duty today is my Orochi XX Tour Versatile, but I also throw crigs, frogs/toads, anything in general that requires a heavy powered rod. This reel just wouldn't pair well with that particular rod. Quote
Diggy Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Not even a little bit. They ugly. has me lol Quote

Super User Goose52 Posted February 20, 2015 Super User Posted February 20, 2015 For sure, hopefully this weather won't slow up the process Hopefully we'll get this last ice storm past us tonight and the rain tomorrow and tomorrow night will melt the remaining ice and snow. After that, the 10-day forecast looks pretty good ! I don't expect an ice-out on my lakes for a while though... Quote
