I got to handle one today.  It's crazy light and tiny.   I wasn't able to put it on a rod but it felt solid for how small and light it is.

How do it feel in your hand? What do you think of the knobs?

It felt like it would need to go on a really light rod or it wouldn't balance well at all.  The reel almost seemed too small.   Other than that it felt great.  It felt solid and smooth.  I liked the knobs a lot.

It kind of reminded me of some of the really small Daiwa reels, (Pixy, Alphas, etc) only it seemed smaller.  It could be because it is so light that it seemed smaller than it really is.  I wish I could have put it on a rod to get a better idea of the size.

Magnesium frame, Ci4+ sideplates

Wow! I'd have to have a custom made to facilitate a reel this light, sounds sweet to me..

I grabbed my Core50 and took the handle, nut, drag star and spool off of it (gotta be an ounce lighter) and put it on some of my rods. The lighter the rod the better the feel in hand. Smoke rod felt the best and Helios right there. The heavier rods like *** Crucial LTB didnt feel the greatest the Crucial LTB for sure cause the balance was off the most.

I need to get something with my$300 giffcards at Gander so will be waiting for 1. they get them and 2. a sale they usually have like $50 off $400 spent or $100 off $500 and get Ald and another smoke rod.

Wow.  4.7 oz is insane!  What kind of line capacity do they offer?

The reel is certainly sexy and has my attention. I'm getting a Metanium first for sure though. Right now my arsenal is full of very versatile rods that do more then one thing well. This reel seems very pitching/flipping oriented so if I have a dedicated rig for that someday this may be the reel for it. The rod that does a lot of the duty today is my Orochi XX Tour Versatile, but I also throw crigs, frogs/toads, anything in general that requires a heavy powered rod. This reel just wouldn't pair well with that particular rod.

Got to see this reel today at the expo. Incredibly light and comfortable to hold. Wish I could justify purchasing one

For sure, hopefully this weather won't slow up the process

Hopefully we'll get this last ice storm past us tonight and the rain tomorrow and tomorrow night will melt the remaining ice and snow. After that, the 10-day forecast looks pretty good !

I don't expect an ice-out on my lakes for a while though... :(
