robster80 Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 just left academy sports. those ethos nano rods or whafever theyre called felt super nice. didnt realize they used fuji components. the micro guide versions felt great as well. anyone fish these ? decent sensitivity? intended on grabbing a carbonlite but think i might giv one of these a try Quote
RustyShackleford Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I was not impressed by them at all, my old man either. For the price, I'd just buy something else. I went to BPS today for a Carbonlite and I left with an Abu Veritas. At $99.99, best rod I picked up. Could have gotten a standard guide Carbonlite for $89.99, but I'm strictly a micro guide man. Such a smoother cast and much better sensitivity. Quote
Blues19 Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I like the H20 rod I have. Got it on clearance when the new rods were coming in. I havent used it a whole lot, but when I have its gotten the job done. I prefer it to the Abu Vendettas I have. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 15, 2015 Global Moderator Posted February 15, 2015 I own 8 of them, great rods for the money, especially if you get them on sale like I always do. Most of mine are their lowest end rods that you can get on sale for $40 pretty often and they have all done what I needed them to do. Quote

(yes, I know what that word means!) I have the Composite Cranker, and I really like it for shallow runners. 3 Quote

I have the Composite Cranker, and I really like it for shallow runners. The disturbing thing is they're fished right next to my St. Croix LTBs and one has even beat out an Avid for my starting jerkbait rod . I mostly use them for moving baits when sensitivity isn't quite as important though. My LTBs still get the call for bottom contact style baits. 1 Quote

Chris007 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I have two of the Ethos rods and love them...I have more expensive rods but love these ..the difference is I haven't told the the fish what I was using.... I have the BPS Carbonlite as well...good rod.... Tight lines Quote
curtis9 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I have 2 of the original rods. I'm interested in the newer rods but haven't seen many reviews to know if they are worth the extra money. I think the newest ones have microwave guides Quote
Kyle46N Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Great rods and great return policy! 1 Quote
eirwin Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I have a few of the ethos rods. I love them. A co-worker told me about them and I decided to check them out. As you stated I was surprised about the fuji components. I like these more than I do the veritas rods and they are cheaper. Sensitivity is unheard of for their cost. Also, another point I'd like to add is if you ever have problems with them like if something breaks take it back and they will replace the rod. My buddy and I were night fishing and he accidentally stepped on it and broke it (my fault for laying it there when I switched to another rod really fast) and I took it back after I owned it for over a year and they swapped it for a new one no questions asked.
