Catch 22 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 2013/2014 winter was a horrible time for trout and red puppy drum in waters of the Delmarva peninsula and north. Thousands died from cold water shock. In 2013 we beat up on the reds in Va,but 2014 was defunct of them and the commercial guys said they saw thousands of deads due to cold shock. More bad news is that I`m seeing reports that more deads are starting to show this winter too. C22 Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted February 14, 2015 Super User Posted February 14, 2015 We went thru that with snook and peacocks down here a few years ago. I'm hoping this February cold spell does not have the same affect on those species. Quote
John G Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Kinda surprised to read this with all of the Global Warming going on. LOL Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted February 15, 2015 Super User Posted February 15, 2015 Kinda surprised to read this with all of the Global Warming going on. LOL Global warming creates extreme weather conditions, more heat waves, more extreme low temperatures, more severe storms, droughts, the list goes on. The naysayers seem to be in this country and pay little attention to what's happening in the rest of the world. Believe what you will. Quote

I am sure that it also played a part in the pass instead of run decision that Pete Carroll made in the Super Bowl. LMAO 1 Quote
Catch 22 Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 Talk to the people in Boston ,Mass about g warming. You might get smashed with a snow shovel. There does seem to be more warm water species moving farther up the Atlantic coast over the last 5 years.I`m looking forward to catching my first snook or tarpon on the Md,De coast. Ocean rising concerns has become a big deal for low laying property owners.More regs are enacted each year to address how and where dwellings can be built. Quote
