Heron Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Try some Fits. Fits are really good for pitching, especially the larger sized ones. 1 Quote
Super User Solution aavery2 Posted February 13, 2015 Super User Solution Posted February 13, 2015 In my mind pitching is a style of casting and not a technique. You can literally pitch any bait. 5 Quote
bassinyea Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 I like the pit boss, beavers, and rage craws. Pit boss has a really good action on the fall but not too aggressive. Beavers have a much more subtle action and the rage craws have a more aggressive action. See what the bass are wanting that day and you're good. If I wanna give them a different look or something real subtle sometimes I will even flip a senko. Each of these baits come in and out of cover very well. Quote

Super User gardnerjigman Posted February 14, 2015 Super User Posted February 14, 2015 I prefer the hissy fit Over the dreaded B fit? Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted February 14, 2015 Super User Posted February 14, 2015 In my mind pitching is a style of casting and not a technique. You can literally pitch any bait. Exactly. I prefer jigs and beaver type plastics though. 1 Quote
Heron Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Over the dreaded B fit? Well...thats for the bigger bites Quote

Super User Fishes in trees Posted February 14, 2015 Super User Posted February 14, 2015 What aavery2 said. Pitching is a style of casting. You can pitch anything. Get in and amongst a bunch of trees and pitch a square bill or a Timber Tiger DC 13 or 16 through all the little lanes that become obvious. You will be amazed what happens when you do this. When you get in and around timber, pitching or maybe an Jimmy Houston type roll cast are your best options, for soft plastics, cranks, spinnerbaits, any bait really. 1 Quote
Super User Angry John Posted February 15, 2015 Super User Posted February 15, 2015 Zoom super hawg gets it done for me. Has all the appeal of a brush hawg but does not hang up. Middle section is wider and holds a heavy hook well. I use a 4/0 or 5/0 heavy straight shank Quote
Blues19 Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I had quite a bit of luck pitching a Rage Tail Menace last spring. I am looking forward to trying a structure bug this year. Just stocked up on beavers to do a lot of pitching too. And yeah, the Pit Boss is a good one too. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 15, 2015 Global Moderator Posted February 15, 2015 Pit boss, Rage Craw or Menace, Senko, jig, baby brush hog. Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 15, 2015 Super User Posted February 15, 2015 Any plastic can be flipped and pitched. Quote
rangerjockey Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I almost hate to pass it on but the Jackall cover craw is really special . Rig it backwards with no weight and the thing will fall away from you and glide under boat lifts and walkways ect.. Quote

Super User Catt Posted February 15, 2015 Super User Posted February 15, 2015 In my mind pitching is a style of casting and not a technique. You can literally pitch any bait. I'll pitch a spinnerbait where most will not attempt to use one! Quote
