Hello All,

I am a grad student in Upstate New York and I have been fishing ever since I could lift a pole.  I just stated getting serious about bass fishing last season, so my bait collection and rod/reel arsenal are pretty small.  I am very competitive so I am very interested in doing local bass tournaments.  I am very excited to learn what I need to succeed in them.

Thanks in advance!

Kyle

Where are you fishing down there ?

When I am in Chemung county I fish the Chemung river all the time, anywhere from corning to elmira.  When I am in Broome I fish the Susquehanna,  but I don't really know where to go there.

I was curious because I don't know of many bass lakes down there. I know to the east you have some reservoirs for NYC drinking water.

I was hoping you could clue me in on some new water :)

Probably your best bet is to jump on Rt.81 and head to Tully lake.

Awesome fishing but no boat ramp. Have to hand launch which is what keeps the lake special.

I go fishing at Lamoka-Waneta lake a lot.  Pretty good for bass but it has A LOT of pickerel.  Thanks for the suggestion!

Oh man Ive been really wanting to go for smallies in keuka.  never done conesus or the Cowanesque either.  I fished the dam when I was a kid though.  Pretty cool to see another guy that fishes lamoka on here.  Ever do any tourneys?

Coldsvt and I fish together the majority of the time. We do fish tournaments in the area with the CV League and we'll be trying the BASS team trail with the Upstate Anglers this year. The tournies with CV are on conesus, honeoye, lamoka/waneta, little lake (cayuta), cayuga, and cowanesque.

Cowanesque Valley. Its home base is Cowanesque lake just over the border in PA. All of the CV tournaments are open buddy tournaments. So you can just show up at the events you want to fish and register at the launch. Its pretty laid back and fun.
