kbeeb374 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Hello All, I am a grad student in Upstate New York and I have been fishing ever since I could lift a pole. I just stated getting serious about bass fishing last season, so my bait collection and rod/reel arsenal are pretty small. I am very competitive so I am very interested in doing local bass tournaments. I am very excited to learn what I need to succeed in them. Thanks in advance! Kyle Quote

Where are you fishing down there ? Quote
kbeeb374 Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 Where are you fishing down there ? When I am in Chemung county I fish the Chemung river all the time, anywhere from corning to elmira. When I am in Broome I fish the Susquehanna, but I don't really know where to go there. Quote
LuckyGia Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I was curious because I don't know of many bass lakes down there. I know to the east you have some reservoirs for NYC drinking water. I was hoping you could clue me in on some new water Probably your best bet is to jump on Rt.81 and head to Tully lake. Awesome fishing but no boat ramp. Have to hand launch which is what keeps the lake special. Quote
kbeeb374 Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 I go fishing at Lamoka-Waneta lake a lot. Pretty good for bass but it has A LOT of pickerel. Thanks for the suggestion! Quote
ColdSVT Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 sorta my neck of the woods! I fish wanteta/lamoka, little lake, hoeyoe, conesus and keuka in NY Cowanesque, hammond and tioga in PA ( just a short ride from corning...under 30mins an a real bad day lol) Quote
kbeeb374 Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 Oh man Ive been really wanting to go for smallies in keuka. never done conesus or the Cowanesque either. I fished the dam when I was a kid though. Pretty cool to see another guy that fishes lamoka on here. Ever do any tourneys? Quote
PAGreg Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Coldsvt and I fish together the majority of the time. We do fish tournaments in the area with the CV League and we'll be trying the BASS team trail with the Upstate Anglers this year. The tournies with CV are on conesus, honeoye, lamoka/waneta, little lake (cayuta), cayuga, and cowanesque. PAGreg Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Cowanesque Valley. Its home base is Cowanesque lake just over the border in PA. All of the CV tournaments are open buddy tournaments. So you can just show up at the events you want to fish and register at the launch. Its pretty laid back and fun. You can check out the info and schedule here: www.cvbassleague.com Quote
kbeeb374 Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 Ok cool thanks man. Maybe I'll see you at one of the tournaments this summer. Quote
