justbassintime Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 so i have been wanting to make my own cranks for years, i think it is a great and self rewarding hobbie. I have been looking for catalogs that offer a large sellection of lure making products (crand baits). I ordered a Jann's netcraft catalog but it seems there selection of crank :bait material is rather limited. so please let me have some info on were i can get the material i need for crank bait making. thank you .............. :-/ Quote
MaxDal Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Hi, Not sure what you exactly want to do ? What do you mean by making crankbaits ? Starting them from scratch and carving them from wood or just painting blank-bodies .... Cause the link here as a nice selection of 2-parts plastic bodies. http://www.luremaking.com/catalogue/catalogue-index/catalogue-items/crankbaits/divers.htm As for wood, (if you want to carve them) I usually buy mine in supply-store Here are a few links ! http://www.zwpi.com/sportinggoods.htm http://www.upnorthoutdoors.com/stamina/plugs_hardware.html Hope it helps. -ebby- Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 i was wondering where to get the foil you use when painting or is it just a normal tin foil? Quote
Super User Munkin Posted February 29, 2008 Super User Posted February 29, 2008 i was wondering where to get the foil you use when painting or is it just a normal tin foil? A lot of people just use regular foil? I use tape from Wal-Mart that looks like foil duct tape but I forget what it is called? A role the size of a normal duct tape roll is like $6? Allen Quote
Super User Munkin Posted February 29, 2008 Super User Posted February 29, 2008 Sorry didn't answer the original post :-[ Jann's is good for plastic crankbait bodies but check out lurecraft.com or luremaking.com in that order for your supplies. I say that order because luremaking.com is in Canada and the shipping is more but they are good to deal with. Allen Quote
jhoffman Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Cabelas carries it too, if youve ever been in one of the stores you would crap at the amount of stuff they have. Quote
