I have never used braid on a bait caster and was wondering what would be the best option for line for just everyday fishing and not specific bass fishing techniques? I just got 2 new Lews Speed Spool Baitcasters with a 7.1:1 ratio.

What techniques do you primarily use and what are the bodies of what you fish like as far as clarity, structure/cover, ect?

Since you say you have two 7:1:1 gear ratio reels I assume jigs, worms and that things of that nature? I'd say 15-20lb fluro depending on the density of fhe cover you will be fishing. If it's real thick grass go braid it's ability to come through grass is great. Lets us know more about the lures you will be using and spots you will be fishing to give a defiant answer.

Power Pro.  I use slick.  Why...because I can and have confidence in it.  Either way, get PP and be done with it.  Use a Fluoro leader

If you want to backlash a lot, use fluoro.  I have found that braid and mono cast easier.  Might just be me, though.

I agree with Fisher. but for some reason, i stray away from braid seeing as it's lack of stretch broke my last rod, and fluoro just seems too brittle for the cold day I fish.
