$20 for a crankbait???? You gotta be KIDDING ME!!!! This trend where baits keep getting more and more expensive is just pricing real people out of the market to fish. Yeah, it looks nice; REAL nice but all this flashy marketing, videos and pro's "adding" their names to products which jacks the price up so they can get "their cut" is just stupid. But then, in my mind paying $20 for a single bait is just stupid too.

I think I'm just gonna quit bass fishing and go back to crickets and a bobber under a nice shade tree...

*Rant over*

I've got a few 110s and havent broken any yet.

I guess I'm just lucky too. I've heard of others having problems but mine have held up, except for the hooks.

I'm curious to see if a fish can delineate those individual minnows when it is wobbling all over the place.

No I'm not trolling.

No, no one is forcing me to buy them.

It's just that $20, (or $25, $30, or more) to pay for a lure just seems crazy to me. The fact that others buy them just encourages these manufacturers to continue this bad behavior. If you don't feed the bear he will move on down the road. (Or just eat you...)

I figured this was going to invite some remarks but that's OK. I guess it's just that I look at a $20 bill in my hand and figure that I've got better things I can do with it than lose it at the bottom of a lake.

Now, the rant is over...

One every now and then is all I do. Kind of like a way to brighten up my dad. Usually the paint jobs are the best, it has something other baits usually don't, and if it makes it to the wall of epic lures it's going to make that wall look awesome lol

Just got mine in today! It looks impressive in person! Got the GP Sexy Shad 1.2 and it looks just like a shad.

To those that own one and fished them, do you add a split ring to it like other cranks or will it kill the hunting action?

I read a pro staffer on another forum say to add a split ring in warm water and leave it off in cold water.  He said all S Cranks in the future will have split rings on them from the factory.  Not sure why the first batch didn't.

How does the action differ with and without a split ring?

More action with the split ring.  That's why he said not to use one in cold water, it would be less erratic.

I'll add one, thanks man!

Just hope I don't lose it my first time out with it this weekend...

Yep, I put split rings on mine too.  I haven't had a chance to use them yet though.

Mine didn't come with a split ring and it doesn't have any of the "hunting action" at all. I highly recommend a split ring or a snap if you want to lure to do what it's supposed to do.

I guess Megabass couldn't afford to add a split ring for the $20 retail price....

I just ordered some of the 1.5's and I will be adding some 1.2's, the 1.5 and 1.2 doesnt denote the size, but the depth in which they run. Most places have fixed the weight on these, the 1.2's actually weigh 3/8 oz, and the 1.5's are 1/2 oz. I bank fish allot and dont take many rods with me so I usually use a duo lock snap so I can change baits quicker, hopefull this will allow the hunting action, if not I will add a split ring. Hopefully the Black Back Chartreuse will be out in 1.5 soon, thats my favorite size and color for the lake I fish the most.

That color is available. That's the exact one that I've had for about a month now.

I havent been able to find one, TW is either out or has not gotten them, as are all of my usual avenues. I saw you bought it at a Field and Stream store, I didnt know they had stores, I live in the Pacific North West, closest thing we have is a Dicks, and they dont carry Megabass lures.

You don't have to buy Megabass, there are plenty of other company's out there that have a cheaper line up of cranks, and some might say that these cheaper cranks are just as (if not more) affective.

Dicks owns Field and Stream stores. My town (Cranberry Twp, PA) is the home of the very first F&S store. They have since started expanding and I think they have about 10 stores now scattered throughout the country. I'm sure eventually, one will open up out your way. If you really want one, feel free to send me a PM and I will go to my local store and pick you up whatever you need and ship them to you.

Just watched the video, that thing swims similar to the scatter rap, without the goofy looking bill.  Also a much heavier bait, interesting, may have to try one.

What was the first color they showed in the video?

Thank You Fishballer06, I am looking forward to giving the Black Back Chartreuse a try.

I know its not a big deal, but does anyone know what size and manufacturer split ring Megabass is now putting on the 1.5 S-Crank line tie?

I don't know what size they will use but I put size 3 ovals on mine, works great.
