ddossett1976 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Ok my father has been nice enough to buy me a fish finder for my bass boat, he said he would spend $1500-1800 no more than that. So I fish a lot of private lakes here in MS and I have no clue which on to buy Hummingbird,Lowrance or Garmin, so I need your help with specific models for me to look at ? Thanks in advance for the help. Danny Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted February 12, 2015 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted February 12, 2015 I have the Humminbird equivalent and they are worth the money. Any good side imaging sonar is going to do what you want. Brand is just a matter of personal preference. 1 Quote
Super User slonezp Posted February 12, 2015 Super User Posted February 12, 2015 Get side imaging which also does down imaging. A down imaging unit will not do side imaging. I'm a fan of HB but both HB and Lowrance make a good product. Garmin hasn't been in the imaging market very long. Not too many freshwater guys using them. They do make a great product Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 12, 2015 Super User Posted February 12, 2015 Humminbird has Side Imaging and Down Imaging Lowrance has Side Scan and Down Scan Garmin has SideVu and DownVu Raymarine has SideVision and DownVision Quote

Dogface Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Just an FYI. Hummingbird has rebates on some 900 and 1100 series units. I just bought a 999 and I'll get a $200 rebate. Quote
