I would probably buy one of those before I bought any other Abu rod.  I'm not a fan of the metal hoods and crappy guides that are on the other rods.

I am a huge fan of talking about the percentage of backbone. thats gives me a better idea of each rod. I hate how every "technique rod" is different. Im a huge fan of these rods. Im going to pick one up come tax return

I gotta say they look pretty sweet for the price. As as been said, bigger fan of a locking nut not made of metal. Though that dang acs reel seat lol

I agree with pretty much everything has said. They look good, I like the backbone/tip percentage thing, and the hood for the reel seat. But like Grantman said I hate that acs reel seat!

What is a strong positive to baits and tackle of the different pros is that the pros want the best product at their price point.

So the Boyd Duckett rods are excellent at their price; the Skeet Reese rods are outstanding at their price; and how Ike enters the picture with his rods at his pricing schedule.

Knowing the passion Ike puts into his profession I would think his rods will perform as advertised.

I know you have the Bait Monkey on your back to buy one so go ahead and get at least one and then use it this spring and summer. You can then follow up with a post reporting on how the rod performed and what you do and do not like about it.

The Bait Monkey loves you.

The description of tip to backbone is a really nice detail that I wish other manufacturers would put on their rods so if you can't handle them, you would know what you're getting.

This is awesome! I really like the videos TW has added to each rod description. I think I'll purchase a flippin stick if they've got one.

I'm surprised to say it but I am interested in the new "Ike" Rod's. I like the color and the way they have the rod set up and the ACS reel seat is just awesome, it is my favorite reel seat and makes me like the rod much more just because of the ACS. I'll be ordering a couple tonight.

The only thing that I dont like is all of the rods are over 7 feet long. I wish they offered some 6'6'' and 6'9'' like the veracity line.

I agree with you Sam, the passion and time Ike puts into bass fishing in general, all the things he does, time he puts into products that he designs or helps design, live stream shows that he does and just everything. I watch a lot of videos of various pros, talking about their products and bla bla bla but you know its just a bunch of you know what and just trying to sell their products, of course Ike is trying to sell/market his products too, but I feel like Ike actually tries, actually wants to help you and actually tries to make a bait that will be a game changer and a rod that will feel/handle etc like we all want a rod to do.

Ill give it time for the Ike series rods but im sure I will eventually pick one up, they seem legit.

The new Ike drop shot (60/40) spinning rod at I believe 6'10" ML Fast action has peaked my interest . It appears to be a true drop shot application rod at a lower price point versus other rods in the same price range that claim to be a drop shot designed rod - but really aren't .

I have never seen or fished with an Ike rod but he is a great guy.  A friend of mine is a BASS planner and had Mike call me one night.  It was several years ago right before the Three Rivers tournament and he was very down to earth and good guy to talk to.  He even talked to me about his strategies for the tournament.
