I like mine, but they're lots of reviews on duds. I'd try getting one out of the box and in your hands and Make sure it's all right.

I was originally planning on getting one shipped to me, but I suppose I could find a seller nearby. Thanks!

there casting reels are okay, but I think they make one of the Best spinning reels around.

I've had really good luck with the SXs Ive owned. I really liked them.

I really liked mine for just starting out. You can get them really cheap too. Honestly though, and a lot of people said this before me, but go with a Tatula. I ended up getting one and realized everyone was right. For the money you can't beat it. It just doesn't palm as well as the SX.

I always prefer to hold in hand before purchasing any reel. I own the revo s and love it as well as a Revo mgx( amazing). I think you will like the sx, I don't think much about many product reviews mostly because majority of those bad reviews are people that don't know what the hell they are doing and/or don't care for their things enough for them to work properly. Just my 2 cents. Good luck on your decision and let us know what you think!

It is one of my favorite workhorse reels, I'm planing on getting much more. I prefer it over my Tatula, Lexa, and Lew's Tournament honestly. To me it palms the best, it's light, and powerful. Unlike many other people I don't find the Tatula to be that appealing to me, pretty sure my SX can outcast it. I believe that's due to the fact that I'm kind of partial to the magtrax brake system and not magforce. I don't think you'll be disappointed and they also carry a 3 year warranty, I hear that Abu Garcia has great customer service. The only few problems I have with them is that Abu Garcia's thumbars are not the greatest, and the plastic (silver pieces) can get worn and turn a brownish color if you have more sweaty hands.
