Who has the best rates for shipping rods. I get a lot of rods ups and FedEx. Is one better and cheaper.

I might be wrong, but fed ex always seems more expensive than ups. I would call and ask. You can also look it up online if my memory serves me correct.

I've used all 3 companies to ship rods and none are hands down better than any of the others. There is an online calculator but it's not 100% accurate. I've had stuff turn out to be $20 more. Just expect to pay $20-45 depending on length, destination, and insured value.

Why is it so expensive??? I'm not gonna pay 40 bucks for shipping on a 100 dollar rod....

The price depends on the variables.

How far

How long

How much

I just shipped 3 rods in 1 tube from Md to Ca.

The tube was 8ft long so there's a charge for that.

The distance was across the U.S. so it was more verse shipping it a few states away.

Ups includes $100 insurance. If you want more then you have to pay extra for it.

$25-30 is what the average price usually runs me.

36.50 from wa to NY.  It was a little more than i expected, but the deal is shipping more than one at the same time.  I was shipping just one rod to be rebuilt so i was stuck only sending one.

well if i ever order rods i order them from tackle warehouse for $10 shipping other than that i don't really order rods because i prefer holding a rod in my hand before purchasing it

Definitely go on USPS and print out a shipping label. Much cheaper than anywhere I've looked including the post office haha

Or if you have any friends or family with a UPS business account, They will get much cheaper rates (sometimes 30%+ off) to ship it.

Something to keep in mind and to help you if you're shipping a rod.
