urban.angler Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Yes...you read right- New York City! Didn't think there were any bassers in the Big Apple, did ya? Well, we exist! My #1 fishing spot is the iconic Central Park, where I fish for both large & small mouth bass- and the occasional crappie. Here's an example of what you can catch in NYC. I look forward to being part of & contributing to the bassresource forums. Tight lines to all & to all tight lines! Quote

I always wanted to get out to Central Park. Just hasn't happened yet. Van Courtland lake sucks for bass fishing. I think in part due to locals taking fish. That's the case recently, anyway; maybe things were better when you fished there. It is one of the best spots in NYC for yellow perch, though (according to the DEC's statistics). If you ever find yourself in NYC & need someone to guide you through CP, shoot me a message! I'd be more than happy to show you around. Tight lines! 1 Quote
urban.angler Posted February 9, 2015 Author Posted February 9, 2015 I live three blocks from Van Cortland Park. Welcome! I'm gonna try to hit Van Courtland more this season, I only visited it twice last season. Are people still catching bass there? Quote
