Blues19 Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Talked to a guy working at the Bass Pro in Springfield MO (headquarters). He said they put the Pro Qualifier out Thursday night for a few hours. Through Friday night he said they had sold over 400. Put everything they had out today which had to be at least 200 and by 2 they only had about 30 left. He said they made a call to the warehouse to send more. I asked if they were trying to get rid of them cause they were going to have new ones coming out. Said the newer model will come out later this year, in the Fall he though. Mentioned they were just trying to get some of the stock out of the warehouse. I believe they achieved that. They had probably 150 old Carbonlites, 50 Extremes, a bunch of Quantum KVD Rods, and few Crucials and Clarus's, and a few EXOs. Did they those rods everywhere or did they send a lot back to Springfield? Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted February 8, 2015 Super User Posted February 8, 2015 Today around 2p they ( Bps ) had about 20 reels left, I saw 0 rods on clearance.. Saw the new white ( ugh ) models... Not much of a sale in my area... Quote
Trace Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Is the sale in-store only? Checked online and the PQ still seems to be listed at 99 bucks Quote
Jtrout Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 I might go get one do they got them in left hand retrieve Quote
cbass12 Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Did they those rods everywhere or did they send a lot back to Springfield? The guy I know at the Olathe, KS store said all the old carbonlites got sent back to Springfield. Quote
Blues19 Posted February 8, 2015 Author Posted February 8, 2015 The guy I know at the Olathe, KS store said all the old carbonlites got sent back to Springfield. No wonder there were so many. I only saw one of the Rod I was looking for (6'6" ML Spinning). I should have taken a picture of the rods. It was incredibly hard to find anything. While poking through it I saw a Daiwa Lexa and a St. Croix Rage Rod too. There was just a smorgasbord of rods there, all for 40% off Quote
Super User Darren. Posted February 8, 2015 Super User Posted February 8, 2015 The Hampton, VA BPS sent all their rods to corporate. Fortunately for me, I was in Richmond today for a soccer tourney and was able to hit their BPS during downtime between games. Picked up a 6'6" ML spinning Carbonlite for $60. I'd say there were maybe 25 CLs there, a few black Johnny Morris Sigs, some Rage, and other rods. Wanted a 6'6" M Carbonlite, but settled for the ML. Good to go now with my four main rigs having Carbonlites, Cronarch 50e's and Stradic 1000FI's. Quote

The 6'6" ML spinning Carbonlite seems like it will be really good for dropshotting and things like a roadrunner for skittish bass. I found 2 MLs in the mess. A Carbonlite and a Daiwa Lexa. The Lexa felt more like a MH than a ML or even a M. It was thick and stiff. Crazy to me that they can call it a ML. im trying the ML Carbonlite out tomorrow. Quote
bbodkin Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Got a sig series 2 for $80 plus $15 off from the rod trade in Quote
