Short review here.

Taken this reel out about three times since I bought it and each time it has blown me away. Had 20-25mph gusts today. With the brakes set correctly I was casting a 5/16oz jig and Baby Rage Craw trailer into the wind without a problem. Paid $220 for it used on EBay and it is definitely worth the money at full price. You can find it online at some Japanese etail sites for about $270. If you've been on the fence about this real now is the time to buy before the yen starts to go up higher against the dollar. Just my two cents, hope it was helpful.

By brakes,I mean the setting dial on the side of the reel.

Yeah - the DC reels are pretty cool. I had my Calcutta 100DC reel on the water today - casting crankbaits right into strong wind gusts.  No worries mate !

Sounds like these reels (DC) models have come a long way since ***, so many reels to choose from, I may have to create my own lottery to help decide.. No wait, I can ask the wife!

Ok Bass Hunter, how do you like that combo? I will use it for frogs but frog season is so short up here. For the rest of the time I'll use it for small swim baits for pikes, and 1/2 Oz jerksbaits.

I love it. I was throwing a light jig and was getting all out of it and I love the feel of the rod and the sensitivity. The tip loads really well. It's rated for 3/8oz up to 3 1/4 oz and as it gets warmer I might throw a Jackall Mikey on it also.
