Hey guys I just wanted to know yalls opinion on a good crankbait rod and reel that won't break the bank. I'm in college so I'm on a budget. I don't wanna spend more than $125

Gander mountains 7'11" crankbait rod regularly goes on sale for $49, pro qualifier $50 at bps this week.

Abu Garcia sells a $100 combo that is an Orra Winch and 7' moderate action rod.

For budgets, it's great to get more bang for your buck, so you may look at a MH power rod that is moderate-fast action around 7' and a 6.X:1 reel. That would be very versitile And fish about everything.

The black max is a good reel for a season but will wear you out if you use it for cranking. It has no power at all.

X2, I have that exact combo. You could get the whole thing for under $100 too.

check out on the bay the evercast horizon reels, they can be found for as low as 30.00 and originally retailed for 100...
