SNK Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Question #1 - Does anyone know what weight of the Orachi XX Extreme Mission Type F (EMTF) rod is? Question #2 - Does Megabass rods ever go on sale anywhere? (My guess is that it does not, or rarely. Just trying to find if I can get the bait monkey off my back right away, or be patient and wait. I plan on buying the rod regardless, I hear so many good things about ti I thought I would give it a try. Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted February 6, 2015 Super User Posted February 6, 2015 5.8oz Megabass doesn't allow sales on their rods. Quote
fisherrw Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 What about the TW spring sale? Dident they have megabass and shimano on sale? Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted February 6, 2015 Super User Posted February 6, 2015 Nope. Megabass will stop anyone that tries to put them on sale. Quote
SNK Posted February 6, 2015 Author Posted February 6, 2015 About what I figured about the sales, thanks for the response. 5.8 seems a bit heavy, but it is a 7'5" rod. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted February 6, 2015 Super User Posted February 6, 2015 Go ahead and give in, you'll love it I've got the Perfect Pitch and a Seven Eleven Destroyer. They are nice sticks! 1 Quote
BasshunterJGH Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 What about the TW spring sale? Dident they have megabass and shimano on sale? Last February they had a Shimano sale during the bassmaster classic. If I remember correctly it was for Shimano, Jackall, and G Loomis products. No Megabass. Unfortunately they never go on sale anywhere. Megabass policy. Quote
BasshunterJGH Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 About what I figured about the sales, thanks for the response. 5.8 seems a bit heavy, but it is a 7'5" rod. Don't pay attention to the weight, they balance great. Better than many 4 and 5 ounce rods I'd guess. Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted February 7, 2015 Super User Posted February 7, 2015 There may have been one year or so where one could receive Megabass products discounted from retailers. Now it just isn't allowed. I was fortunate enough to get a few rods including the EMTF for a light discount. Even at 5.8 ounces it balances well and performs very well for a multitude of techniques. Super User Dwight Hottle Posted February 7, 2015 Super User Posted February 7, 2015 The only discount I have seen on Megabass rods have been for used sticks. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted February 7, 2015 Super User Posted February 7, 2015 The only discount I have seen on Megabass rods have been for used sticks. Didn't you get a 2 for 1 special one time on a Megabass rod? Jeff 1 Quote
SenkoGuru Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I'm am a major Duckett Fan, I love my White Ice rods but when I post something I try to always tell what I honestly think and feel. I would never try to steer any one wrong. I bought the Megabass Orochi EMTF to try and it is hands down now my favorite Senko Rod. This Megabass rod is simply fantastic, it has the "IT" factor. I would tell you to not worry about the weight and just save up and buy it. Quote
DelcoSol Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I have the spinnerbait special. The tapers of these rods are unique. Very multi purpose type rods. Very nice. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted February 7, 2015 Super User Posted February 7, 2015 Didn't you get a 2 for 1 special one time on a Megabass rod? Jeff Yes sir I did. Broke my heart & my sensibility when the first one broke on a little 3.5 lb smallie. 1 Quote
IAY Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Yes sir I did. Broke my heart & my sensibility when the first one broke on a little 3,5 lb smallie. At least a sudden gust didn't cause your trunk close and snap a F4-68X7. Megabass USA did replace it for me though. 1 Quote
plumworm Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Didn't Shimano for years have similar policy re: MSRP? Quote
Penguino Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 St. Croix has a similar policy for their rods. Most of the time, the only way you get a discounted St. Croix rod is when there is a rebate or bargain room special. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted February 7, 2015 Super User Posted February 7, 2015 At least a sudden gust didn't cause your trunk close and snap a F4-68X7. Megabass USA did replace it for me though. How long did it take to get replaced? I sent my Destroyer in a month ago today. Quote
IAY Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 How long did it take to get replaced? I sent my Destroyer in a month ago today. They were very communicative with me. They approved for replacement the day it arrived. The whole thing took about 2 weeks from the time I sent it to them, and the time I got my replacement, just because of the freight time. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted February 7, 2015 Super User Posted February 7, 2015 I emailed them yesterday but no response yet? Quote
IAY Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 The initial email could take 1 or 2 business days. I believe mine took 2 days for them to respond as well. Quote
