BasshunterJGH Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Sounds great , At least the price range is going to be competitive ...... From what I've read it's going to be a nice rod for the money. Should compete with the st croix avid, duckett micro magic pro, kistler klx, etc. I'm gonna pick one up if TW has a Shimano sale this month.. Quote
carlm01 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Nice let us know what you think of it .... Quote
BasshunterJGH Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I like the reel seat better too. Don't like the acs seat on the imx and gl2. Quote
BasshunterJGH Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Nice let us know what you think of it .... Will do Quote
THE_Vue's Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Them guides though Would been nice if they were K guides to stack up with the KLX rods Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Really ? they have them on their site no prices yet .. I'm not sure they'll replace the GL2's just like the 2's never replaced the 3's I think it would just be another option... We'll see I guess LOL I couldn't imagine someone saying, "Well, the E6X is lighter, better balanced, cheaper, and nicer looking that the GL2, but I think I am going to buy the GL2." Someone is going to be bargain shopping for the lowest end G Loomis or go up the scale some (into IMX, GLX, or NRX). Since the GL2 is no longer the basement of the G Loomis line, I think they (like GL3's did) will get lost. I just can't imagine G Loomis being able to keep up and produce all these rod lines and models. Something has got to give (and I am betting it is the GL2). Quote
carlm01 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 That's not entirely true , You can still find the GL3's on the site and they are still demanding a couple of hundred dollars .. With that said I don't know who's buying them , I would love to see the GL2's end up like that . I'd buy a few more and be allset LOL Quote
ChrisWi Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Doesnt look like there's a flex coat on it (I believe thats what it's called, I'm thinking of the stuff that protects the blank and makes it shiny) so thats a big scary. Be cool to see an ACS reel seat on the casting rods and a not so stock reel seat on the spinning rods. Especially for $200, still a investment for most of us on here. Quote

Super User F14A-B Posted February 9, 2015 Super User Posted February 9, 2015 I think a close out is probably a safe assumption on the GL2.. 1 Quote
Grantman83 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I am intrigued for sure and do like the color scheme. Those siting the Curado g to I comparison neglect to mention that the curado I came with a $20 increase as opposed to these rods being prices $50 below the GL2. Time will tell Quote

Time will tell Tw has these E6x casting models priced in the 189-199 range compared to the casting model gl2s at 200-220. Twenty dollar difference between similar length and action models. Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted February 9, 2015 Author Super User Posted February 9, 2015 I think a close out is probably a safe assumption on the GL2.. I bet you're right. And with a big price drop, people will be grabbing them up like G series Curados when their prices dropped. Hootie Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 12, 2015 Super User Posted February 12, 2015 Wow! This is quite a line-up. It looks to me like G.Loomis is making a huge commmitment to this new series. Quote
carlm01 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Can't wait to see what happens to the GL2 's Hopefully they'll go on sale .. Quote
carlm01 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 They're already on sale on a few sites at a 199.00 price point....... Quote
Pettis Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I got the 894C in the EX6 series, and have used it several times. First impression- this thing is LIGHT and balances very well. I think folks are going to be pleasantly surprised. I use it for dragging 1/2 oz football heads and it is great for this application. It is very sensitive, not on the NRX level but certainly well above the GL2. Cork is good quality, and the black/green is ok if your into that (Id prefer just black but that's me). Overall at the price point the value is incredible. Again, I have only used the 894, so I cant speak to the cranking sticks, or the flipping sticks- but this one is a winner. Glad I picked it up. The Great Blue Heron Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I have an E6X 783C. It is a very nice rod for $180. Light, sensitive, looks great, made in the USA. Very comparable to the Avid series. Quote
Mr_Frodo Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I have 9 G Loomis rods one of them being a GLX which I love . I'm looking to add an nrx to the stable but for the price of the NRX I can get two E6X rods, almost 3 actually. 200 bucks apiece versus 550 for the NRX. I suffer from severe gas that is gear acquisition syndrome. Just as a sidenote I'd like to mention *** rods I have two and they are awesome for the price point I would check them out as an option 1 Quote
The Great Blue Heron Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I'm not fishing with anything that has 13 on it! Quote
Mr_Frodo Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I'm not fishing with anything that has 13 on it! You're missing out . They have excellent rods and reels Quote
