Hi y'all,

Well I'm new here but I've reading the forum for quite some time and I really appreciate all the great advice that one can get here. Thanks to each and every Bass Resource member.

I also happen to carve lures when I have a little bit of time on my hand.

Here's a new one. ;)

I am really bad a painting, so I haven't painted it yet. But I will find a classy Yellow Perch or Peacock Bass Pattern for it.

What do you experts think ? Peacock Bass or Yellow Perch .(or anything else for that matter)

PS: The plastic tail is not custom, it's a left-over from an old LC RealBait 128. But I guess it fits ::)

Is this possible to attach various pictures to the same post ?

I've read the important topics but could not find an answer... Maybe I should read it again !

Anyway, here 's the second view

That's some great piece of advice indeed !

Well if I could I would let the bass decide, but I want to make them a little surprise you know  ;) ! Don't tell them ....

What's in the lake ? huuuh .... Ghost fish I never seem to catch  ;D !

Well now I understand why there are Ghost Color at every tackle manufacturers  ::)....

Bluegill could look nice too. Well too bad I can only have one.

Thx for the compliments BTW

Good looking bait.

I know a custom lure maker and when he was first designing his baits, he fished them with just a clear coat.  He did this thinking that if he could get the fish to hit it like that, then he perfected the bait's profile and action.  Then adding the paint would only make it better.

very nice looking bait and a very interesting hing.  As for paint you can go wrong with anything on top of a pearl white belly with just a touch of red on the throat.  Keep the pics coming.

Thank you for all the colors advice !

@Infidel : Sounds like a good way to proceed... though one has to be really patient to do so. As for the action of the bait, it already has what I was trying to get ... Of course now I have to get bass's feedback  :;)

Anyway, sounds like some of you are pretty interested in the hinge... Although I don't think it is really particular, here is a scheme.

I thought it was pretty classic, or ?

(the eye screws for the line tie and the hooks are actually longer than they appear on the picture, but I could not find a picture of an eye screw with a longer shaft)

The flat-head nail that is inserted in the eye-screws is glued in place.

that is a snazzy bait my friend!!!!!

it would look very snazzy with a photo finish. you could find a pic of a fish and then do a photo finish of that fish onto your lure it would definitley be a winner.

that lure really has a profile of a yellow perch. a baby bass would also be great for that lure. maybe even a trout? shad patterns are pretty classic and work well everywhere even where there are no shad.

you can PM me if you are interested in the photo finishing process.
