countryboy65 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I have been reading some of these forums for a while but just now signed up. I just started fishing local club tournaments last year and getting in to bass fishing more seriously. Look forward to talking to you guys. Quote

Tmmytomato Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Welcome! I lived in Missouri 32 years and now iin Colorado 36 years but will always consider Missouri home. You have a wealth of great fisheries in your area and I see you included Kincaid in Illinois as a favorite. It's a pretty little lake. We fished Table Rock, Bull Shoals, Lake of the Ozarks, Wappapello and Stockton before there was a Truman Res. Great place to live and fish. It was a different time without the tackle, baits and electronics that are now available and we had a ball. But thanks to technology things now are even more fun (and dependable). These are the gold old days. Quote
countryboy65 Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Do you fish Lake Girardeau and Perry County Lake much? i have never fished lake girardeau before but fish perry county lake a little. Last year in the early spring me and my buddy went out, only caught two but one was a five pounder. Unless I go to a bigger lake that we fish in tournaments most times i just fish on my home lake. I live on a sixty acre gated community lake that is pretty darn good. Quote

I live on a sixty acre gated community lake that is pretty darn good. I've never fished Perry County. Back in the 70s I fished Lake Girardeau some and the fishing was good. I still check the reports for the area when I visit my Dad. I haven't seen too many good reports for Lake Girardeau over the last few years. I've had some luck at Lake Wappapello but the silt has really filled it in since I was a kid. In the heat of summer the main channel is about the only place to find fish. It sounds like you have it made with your own private community lake. That's great. Quote
