So I just picked up a 2 news rods one being the FPR 893c GLX AND THE JWR 803c NRX GREEN. And they are great. But I think I am more impressed with the GLX THAN THE NRX I have heard a few other say the same. However I am partial to a 7'5'' rod over a shorter rod. But the GLX seems lighter due to a better balance and easier on the hand. Anyone else have similar opinions

Welcome to the club, Brent.

May these two rods form the base of many more G. Loomis rod purchases.

Excellent rods.

GL2 and NRX.

Night and day.

GL2 vs GLX the same.

I will say I was worried about the GLX 893 not having enough back bone but I was wrong and the big guides pass heavy flouro and braid like a dream. I even tried using a long leader (12ft) and with my abu MGX could pitch a 3/8oz jig about 25-30yds with decent accuracy

Not in my house.

I think he meant they are the same as the NRX as in NRX and GLX night and day from the GL2 at least I hope he did. If not then.....

Yes that is what I meant, why I specifically quoted Hootie's post.  Sorry for any confusion.  I would never say they were the "same" as GL2s.  I own GLXs and would kick myself if they were expensive GL2s. I own one GL2, not horrible rod but not worth the "price".  Should be a 100 or less rod.

I will agree with that. I dont think every rod has to be super sensitive provided it has a purpose. I love my St croix Mojo Bass spinnerbait rod as a T Rig plastics rod because its indestructible. its super tough it has a good amount of backbone and its senisitive enough. and only 99 bucks.

My GL2 Isnt that sesnsitive. not that tough and i feel scared to set the hook on it. something about it feels cheap.Plus it was

$215. I have a 40 dollar Lightining rod IM6 that I enjoy fishing over my GL2

Which GL2 do you have?

I have the 893C JWR, I don't think it's that bad, I use mine as a spinnerbait rod and works fine.  Just not what you would a 200 dollar rod should be.  It's in my regular arsenal though.

I Have the GL2 803C JWR and also the IMX 803C JWR and I fish them in my arsenal regularly.

my GL2 I strickly use with a 4/0 owner and 3/16 OZ worm weight with a zoom MAG II tequila sunrise for back up cast and short strikes. It stays at my feet ready for a back up cast. I never seem to fish it as a techniquie but if I miss the bite I set down the rod with the bait still out  throw that worm in for round 2. I have caught a good  amount of fish on i like that.

So on my GL2 I can feel the bites but i feel the bites because I know the fish is coming for it.  When im worming it seems a bit harder to pick up those suttle pick ups. IDK not a junk rod but my $150 Veracity is twice the rod. I think the GL2 should run 99 bucks

my IMX is my worming rod which I use 5/0 owner 5/16 OZ and 10" Zoom ol Monster tequila sunrise. this is my sit down on the boat deck and really pick apart structure rod. and despite the 90 dollar price the difference the IMX seems like its 5x the rod. On this rod I can feel if a bluegill farts within 50 yds of my lure.

I know what you mean, when I fished my first Cumara.  I actually could feel everything and would set the hook on things I've never felt before.  I even caught a scale of a fish swimming by.  From that day I realized the importance of a sensitive rod on bottom contact rods.

I know where they come from. There's no bluegills in my bathtub.

Heck yeah they are sensitive, the previous generation ones are my favorite.  I have 2 of them, I can't find much of them anymore.  I really don't like the color of the latest Cumara, but I hear they are pretty sensitive.  I eventually might give in and buy one of the red ones when they go on clearance.
