BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted February 3, 2015 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted February 3, 2015 We are headed there for Easter weekend. I had never even heard of it before last week. Any tips? We will be staying next to the Duncan Marina. I was planning on hiring a guide to do some striper fishing one day but the other 3 I'll be on my own. Quote
lazeebum Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 A guide is a good idea. I have not fished that lake from a boat yet. It is a really deep lake. Since my daughter lives near it, I am gonna try to fish it from my boat. Maybe I can tell you something after that. Keep checking a little closer to your planned time to be there, maybe someone knows something. Quote
Gotfishyfingers? Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I was up there in Feb. last year. Its extremely deep and has ledges through out. A-rigs and suspending jerk baits worked real well. If you have good electronics look for schools and fish on those ledges and try throwing a drop shot if ya find them. A X-rap in hot pink was my color of choice believe or not. Extra long pauses around sloping banks was the way to go at that time. I remember being really far from the shore to. Those can be found in the coves that have homes in them. They would come up from like 20 ft and hit it on the pause. . The A-rig I had more success on was a curly tail style swimbait instead of paddle tail. I threw that really close to the banks in areas where there were no homes and more trees style shore line. Its a quit lake with some nice natural scenery and cool rock walls to. Quote
