This is an interesting thread. None of mine are particularly industry-changing like clear braid or anything, but that would be on my wishlist too.

Maybe

Teflon-coated line guides

Soft plastics that employ a more dense soft plastic in one area and a less dense plastic in other areas to create a sort of embedded ballast. I can think flukes might benefit from this. Like a bottom that is more dense to provide a keel to keep it upright, or a craw style bait with a more dense nose to have a nose-down effect without the weight (even though it'd sink slow - might be nice to have)

A braid that has different colored fibers inside so that you could easily tell which part of the line has too much/risky wear - kind of like tires have wear indicators

Also Im with most, a perfect line would be nice, braid+fluorocarbon best of both worlds. Oh and clicking drag on low pro baitcasters, like spinning reels have...

I'd love to get my hands on some tree-repellant for my lures.  Not the wet trees, I'm fine with getting into the submerged trees.....I'm wanting something that will keep my lures from flying into the overhanging branches that have some sort of tractor beams tuned to my tackle.

As long as we're dreaming, I want a device which targets and fries mosquitoes, deer flies, and ticks BEFORE they can inflict any damage upon my person.  I want an "umbrella" which hovers several feet over me (so as to not obstruct my casting), senses the suns position (relative to me) and then shades me comfortably.  I want a water cooling machine which provides a nice cool (and pleasantly scented) mist of water over me on hot days.  I want a very thin and comfortable electric body suit which not only makes me appear more muscular than I am but which also pulsates warmth on those nasty cold days.  I want a trolling motor which reads my thoughts (even before I think them) and positions the boat perfectly for each and every cast.  I want a battery which weighs less than 1 lb which will keep me trolling happily on an extended fishing trip AND provides enough power to grill numerous ham and cheese sandwiches.  I want a fish finder which is so senstive and accurate that it will even do an ultrasound of the fish to see what they have been eating lately.  I also want the images from the transducer to be displayed neatly on a heads up display on my sunglasses.  I want a little remote control boat which can carry my baits quickly, quietly, and accurately under and/or around docks and overhanging trees, etc.  I want little tazer device which I can use on my fishing partner when he (or she) is late at the dock, front boats me, or catches more fish than I do (especially if they have the poor discretion of broadcasting said discrepancy).

something to measure and implement industry standards on power and action of rods

Yes on the rod standards and I would like to add hook sizes too

A test lab that would certify line sizes and tensile strength.

Heated gloves that are powered by generators in your boots. A little foot action to warm up the feet  and hands

Motorized plug that could swim back under docks and tree branches

Rather B ,that is some funny stuff ,thanks

Im gonna agree with the guys that say a braid thats as clear as flouro or mono, but anything that makes fishing easier would probaly take the fun out of it. We all love those days we go out and get on a school of giants that will bite anything we throw at them and can catch 50 in an hour but if we didnt have those days that were tough that took all day to get 1 bite i probaly wouldnt be into fishing. Its the challenge that keeps me interested, also why i spend thousands on tackle and gear.

A low profile foot pedal for a cable steer trolling motor.

I'll also add that'd it'd be nice to have the option to plug in a foot pedal on transom-mount trolling motors. I know Motorguide has the Bulldog and there's the hotly criticized ProControll doo-dad, I'm still on the fence about it. But it'd be sweet if MK and MG would make an optional plug on their motors to add a basic foot pedal.

braid that is invisible like fluorocarbon so i could have the best of both worlds

x2 with one change ... It would need to sink like FC as well.  Spiderwire has the sinking part already.  They just need to get the invisible part down.

I was wondering if that Invisi-Braid really worked.

I still get a kick out of your avatar pic with that small bass.

I was referring to their Fluoro-Braid.   It has the sinking properties of FC apparently.  Looking to try that this spring.

As for the Invisi-Braid ... It might be clearer but it's not fluoro.

Ah thanks for the correction, I didn't realize they had a Floro braid too.  Let us know how it works!

Will do ... looking to use it on my "mojo rig" spinning rod.

something that keeps metal from burning up on the boat latches. I swear every time I kneel down I got burned.

Like mentioned, a line that has a mix of the good qualities of braid, fluoro, and nylon. Strength, abrasion resistance, invisibility, low memory, and manages/handles well.

Just messing with you. I fish barefoot and by noon I have to put my sandals on.

I have been saying it for years. Somebody needs to invent a super strong super sharp CLEAR hook. like a ridged fluorocarbon material made into a hook. When/if somebody invents that they will be very rich.

Or they can paint it red, cause you know some brands think red is invisible :D
