Super User Goose52 Posted February 1, 2015 Super User Posted February 1, 2015 nice deals! whats the difference in scorpion xt1000 vs the scorpion 200hg ? The Scorpion XT1000 is a 50-size reel that is the JDM counterpart to the USDM Chronarch 50E and Curado 50E. The Scorpion 200HG is the JDM counterpart to the USDM Curado I. Quote
SDbassin Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Thinking of maybe picking up a metanium as well, how is the shipping? is it reliable coming from Japan? Quote

JGBassinAL Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Thinking of maybe picking up a metanium as well, how is the shipping? is it reliable coming from Japan? Shipping was like $11. I ordered it Friday afternoon and just checked it today and it's in New York so I should get it by Thursday. I've ordered from Japan once before and it only took a few days so It's really not much longer if at all than ordering in the states. Quote

JGBassinAL Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Do you ever get hit with import fees? I haven't in these two times I have ordered from Japan. I know others have. I don't think it happens very often tho. Quote

a1712 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Reels being Shipped EMS it would be extremely rare to be charged anything. On a Rod it's a different story, that would be UPS, DHL, or Fedex and then a Duty is prob. around a 50-50 chance. Almost guaranteed with UPS, but on a $300 Rod it's about $25-$30. That's not bad considering you're prob saving $200-$300 by ordering over seas. Remember though, NO WARRANTY. Brian. Quote
DelcoSol Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Its amazing how much cheaper and faster the shipping from Japan is than BPS. I ordered from another JDM site and got the reel in two days for $11 shipping with no customs fees either. Beware, the rare Japanese Bait Monkey is even deadlier than the American version.. 4 Quote

robster80 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 are the scorpions the same reel as a curado only red? 1 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted February 4, 2015 Super User Posted February 4, 2015 Hmm, $190 for the Brenious... Whats the US equivalent of that reel? Is it a 50 size Chronarch with a shallow spool? Quote
John G Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 are the scorpions the same reel as a curado only red? I believe that out of the box, the XT1000 is a better reel than a CU50E. According to Japan Tackle, XT stands for Xtra Tune. It is smoother, has better spool bearings and aluminum knob caps. 1 Quote
