travis23 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 The thought of where our technology is headed in the future , is scary. I truly believe our technology will destroy us (my opinion). Maybe a drone will come put the chips in our skin in a couple of years lol. I do think it would be intersting to fly one around a small lake looking for spots! Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted February 2, 2015 Super User Posted February 2, 2015 Then instead of pervert drones, we get into bill collecter drones, and on & on & on.... Quote
EmersonFish Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 As far as drones and their possible implications on tournament fishing, I find it unlikely that the major tournament circuits will ever allow competitors to use an instrument outside of the boat to function independently and scout GPS coordinates while someone is fishing. As for their use for scouting areas prior to tournaments? Maybe that is something that could be of use on lakes where navigating them by boat is too time consuming, and other technological means are not able to provide the current enough data to be relevant. But as far as having a serious discussion about drones in fishing, I think that would be creating an issue that really doesn't exist at this point. We can take the technology versus what is "sporting" debate pretty much as far as we want to. Every sport has to deal with it on some level. I assume that debate has been had on this forum in many forms and I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few locked threads to show for it. Quote
