Hello everyone! I've been reading the forums for a few months now and have been trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can. I decided I spend enough time on the site I might as well join in the conversations. Just a little bit about myself. I've lived in New Jersey my whole life and grew up salt water fishing with my father. About 10 years ago I started freshwater bass fishing with a couple friends and got hooked. I fished from shore up until this August when I purchased a topper Jon boat. Now the addiction is in full swing! I went from two spinning setups and primarily fishing senkos to 6 baitcasters and about 8 3700's full of tackle. I try to fish every Sunday morning and if I can sneak out one night a week for a couple hours. Limited time on the water w two kids 3 1/2 and 2. But I make the best of it when I get the chance. Looking forward to learning from everyone.

Kyle, by Central New Jersey do you mean you are not in Camden?

Does it mean you are not a Flyers fan?

Are you looking for Jimmy Hoffa's body?

Welcome from the jersey shore,

Funny story. I was talking to a park ranger at Manasquan res. a few weeks ago. I asked what the biggest bass he has seen out of there. He said 12.2lbs this past summer, I started laughing and said that would be bigger then the state record by almost 2 lbs are you sure it was a largemouth. To which he said yeah he knows his fish, but it was more like 11.8lbs hahaha

I'm in Howell about three minutes from the resevoir. Spend a lot of time at retention basins and farm ponds like you though.

This wouldn't surprise me I've seen some big ones out of there. My pb came out of there this year but I didnt have a scale so I'm not positive on the weight. I'll post a pick once I figure out how. Do you fish there a lot? I used to fish macs pond in manasquan when I was a kid because it was around the block from my cousins house.

Haha I'm a big fan, I've read his book but haven't taken the obsession to that level yet. Maybe the next time the bait monkey's about to come out I'll jump in the car and go look for it! Looking forward to becoming part of it. Thanks

I fish the reservoir only a few times a season, but not as much as I would like planning on changing that this time around though. There are without a doubt monster bass in there, I just don't buy into that story I was told.

Funny...macs pond is two blocks from my house. I have never fished it though as they have light wire line over the water to keep geese out. The pond itself never seemed to be productive bass water to me, looks to barren and shallow.
