Super User gardnerjigman Posted January 30, 2015 Super User Posted January 30, 2015 Will definitely be getting the shallow one. Looks pretty cool. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted January 30, 2015 Super User Posted January 30, 2015 They did a great job with the layout on that. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted January 30, 2015 Super User Posted January 30, 2015 The countdown definitely looks interesting to me. Quote
Super User HoosierHawgs Posted January 30, 2015 Super User Posted January 30, 2015 I had one, and it didn't really do a whole lot for me.. It could be my area, but I didn't prefer it to my other regular cranks. That's just me. Quote
TorqueConverter Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I love the shallow scatter raps. I bought them to burn over weedy flats but discovered that they slay fish in icy cold water when fished so slow that they don't scatter and the fish take them DEEP. Quote
KritterGitter Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 One of my few confidence crank baits. I have the shallow in smash, penguin and baby bass and they work wonders, I like to crank em somewhat fast then pause around cover or once I bump something, good action along with durability. Quote
Brnnoser6983 Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 I picked up one on a previous order. I watched the product video and though what the heck. I have yet to user it, so would love insight from others. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted January 31, 2015 Super User Posted January 31, 2015 I will be getting some of the shallow and deep versions for sure. Quote
bassguytom Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Scatter Raps have been out for a couple of years or am I missing something. Anyway I picked up some when they first came out and did well with them. You can't really burn them or they will roll. The best method I have found is slow and fast enough to make them scatter then slow. Also they are really light so I throw them n spinning gear. I did not throw them last year and not sure why because they worked for me the previous year. I have not fished the deep cranks only the shallow and count downs. Hope this helps. 2 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted January 31, 2015 Super User Posted January 31, 2015 these are different versions. the new ones are shallow and deep. they had some other scatter raps that were similar but i am most wanting to try that deep one myself. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted January 31, 2015 Super User Posted January 31, 2015 you can barrel roll deep and shallow now 2 Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted January 31, 2015 Super User Posted January 31, 2015 The Lindner's fishing show this week was dedicated to the Scatter Rap cranks. Interesting, but hardly anything new. I think "Lazy Ike", or one of the older plug manufacturers, had such an offering back in the 80's. Quote
flipin4bass Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 I like the action of these lures. I'm hoping LC and Megabass can come up with similar cranks without violating Rapala's patent. Quote
Trent Wilson Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 I have both. Able to cast both easily on my baitcaster and prefer the shallow near docks and the deep everywhere else. Won a few tournaments because of them. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 1, 2015 Global Moderator Posted February 1, 2015 They're a great open water crank because they impart their own deflection or hunting action. You have to fish them slowly but they're a killer at times. Seems like fish really knock the snot out of them when they hit them. I just picked up a deep and shallow version last week, looking forward to trying both, hopefully Friday 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 1, 2015 Author Super User Posted February 1, 2015 http://www.mikeiaconelli.com/bass_fishing_video.php?id=ypFNtCdOrCo I picked up a couple after watching Mike Iaconelli raving about the lure, but have not fished it yet. The action does look interesting. Quote
BannedForSpamming-1234555 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I ordered a shallow crank and a scatter minnow. I can't wait to try them out this year Quote
