Joedodge Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 Oh man lol most of the ponds and canals I fish are shallower than 8 feet. And theme canal had a lot of cover and mid day the bass can be seen thick. And the one lake by the house is so thick with pads Quote

Joedodge Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 Well today fishing a heavy lily pad lake I got three blow ups fish missed the frog on one and I missed the hook set on the other two. I'm being to gentle I think. I'm gonna try again tomm Quote
Mass Bassin' Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 When the water temps are above 55 degrees they will work, but work better when the water temps hit the low 60's. x4 Quote
Joedodge Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Thanks for all the help everyone Quote
Mass Bassin' Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 are you using a heavy baitcasting rod with braid? Quote
Joedodge Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Haha no it's a medium power fast action 7 foot apinng rod and 20 pound braid. I know it's light for frogging but it's what I have for now Quote
hatrix Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 They will miss a lot or only grab the legs and drag it down. They don't even always try to eat a frog every time. Sometimes they hit it to stun or injure it and then come back again. Try and walk it really fast after a miss like it's getting away. Then if they don't grab it pretty quick again pause it. It's like such a gurantee for me I am surprised when I don't get a follow up. Quote
Joedodge Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Oh man no kidding that's Awesome! I'll remember that Quote
