hey guys been thinking about picking up a new rod at the bass pro spring fishing classic& I was going to trade an old ugly stik for either a falcon, duckett, shimano(if they're participating) or a st. Croix. but I cant decide on which model st. Croix to consider. I've been looking at the premier, mojo bass, and the rage. which one of those three would you pick and why?  and would you pick one of those st.croixs over the other brands I listed?    thanks.

Sort of depends on what you want to do with the rod.  If you are going bottom contact then a Rage or preferably an Avid.  If you are tossing treble baits or spinnerbaits then a Mojo or Premier.

Can't really go wrong with any of those 3 brands. I don't believe Shimano participates.

For St Croix rods I would go with either the Mojo or Premiere.  They are both really good rods and you can't go wrong with either one.

Shimano started participating awhile ago.

I second the Avid, I think the rage is a decent stix too, I don't love the reel seat a lot though..

I have 8 Premiers a Mojo and a Rage. I love the full cork handles on the Premiers. The Mojo is OK but I totally don't like the Rage. Couldn't even tell you why really. My vote, Premier.

The blank in the Rage is superior to the Premier and Mojo.  If the rod is going to be primarily used for moving baits any of them would be fine, just choose the one that feels the best to you.  If the rod was going to be used for contact baits, I would go with the Rage, it transmits vibration better than the others.

I have not fished any of the lower models but the premier.  I have a ton of avids and legends and there great sticks.  If its not to much of a leap i would grab an avid 7'MHF as one of the most versitle sticks around.

I like the mojo and avid x builds best out of all their ranges. The Avid blank is better than the mojo blank though, so a better rod if you can stretch to it.
