Hey guys,

This the first topic I have ever started as I am a new guy on this site. I have a 2200 Gambler boat I purchased last year and im enjoying it to the fullest. One problem I face however is that every now and then friends or family members come aboard to fish with me. They are inexperienced anglers and don't know to how to use my equipment. I have a Duckett 6 foot 9 Rod on a quantum Smoke Spinning reel as the "back up Rod " for someone to use. I have noticed that they struggle using it and feel that they would be more comfortable with a push pole Rod. I'm looking into buying 2 or 3 Rod and reels for other people to use and just have on the boat at hand. What type of Rod and reel would you guys recommend? I feel that the push poles fail easier and are more likely to have problems over time. Are there any specific rod n reel combos you guys recommend for beginners?

If it's kids under say 10 Id say zebco .. My 7 year old uses them and my ten year old used cheap spinning stuff for a year before I got him a sahara

Zebco Omega and an inexpensive 6 1/2' MLF rod.

The zebco omega is probably the best spincaster. I don't have one because I use baitcasters but my grandfather bought one and I've played around with it and it is great. I believe it also comes with EVA foam grips too.
