Super User Munkin Posted November 19, 2007 Super User Posted November 19, 2007 Here are some of the things I have been working on lately. The pictures do not do them justice as I am a terrible at photos! Shot with DiMAGE E500 at 2007-11-19 Spinnerbaits: From L to R, Top to Bottom 3/4oz Hiddenweight green pumkin #6 clear plastic blade 1/2oz Hiddenweight craw with matching willow blades 1/4oz Sunfish color (this one is for a trade to Big M) 1/2oz Hiddenweight Firetiger (I put this one in there so you can see the color difference from the sunfish one.) Jigheads= Just some different hooks I am trying out. Allen Quote
Terry_ Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Really, really like that sunfish color! Do you tie your own skirts? Quote
Super User Munkin Posted November 20, 2007 Author Super User Posted November 20, 2007 Really, really like that sunfish color! Do you tie your own skirts? Yes, and that is my 14th version of a sunfish. The problem is they always ended up looking to much like firetiger. That skirt has at least 6 different colors in it. I only have 3 of them and 2 will be shipped to BigM tomorrow so I need to make some more. I am sending him some unpainted spinnerbait heads to see what he can come up with to match the skirt (I am not the best painter). And thanks for the compliment GMAN as it means a lot! Allen Quote
BIG M Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Allen, the baits look great. This will be something new, I've never tried to paint a spinner bait head before. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted November 21, 2007 Super User Posted November 21, 2007 Yep, that sunfish skirt looks like a certified killer! There is a guy here in town that makes some skirts similar to those but they dont seem to be that dark....he calls them "coppernose bluegill". I like the looks of your pattern better. Nice job man. Hook a brother up! Oh yeah, I really like that wide gap shaky head, let me know if you go to sell those. I'll take some of them and a few of the skirts. Quote
Brian_Reeves Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 I'm impressed. I can't wait to get out of this sandbox and get home. I'm wanting to start making my own spinnerbaits, jigs, and pouring a few soft plastics. Work like yours and GMAN's is going to be the standard I set for myself. I really like those jigheads. Quote
Super User Tin Posted November 22, 2007 Super User Posted November 22, 2007 Munkin-what type of hook is that on the jig head on the top. Kind of boxy lookin? Never seen a hook like that around here. Quote
