MNMike Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Hello. I'm thinking about purchasing a St. Croix PC70HM, but first want to know if anyone has used this model for bass fishing. It seems to be more of a musky rod, but perhaps it would work for some bass fishing applications. Thanks in advance for any information. Quote
Crappiebasser Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 It's a great deep crankbait Rod. I had one until I upgraded to a LTB. Quote
MNMike Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 I'm a pushover. Based on your comment, I bought it! Now if we could get the ice off the lakes... 1 Quote
Super User tomustang Posted January 28, 2015 Super User Posted January 28, 2015 Based of the (M) it's a crankbait rod being Moderate, Would better suited for heavier cranks, I would try bigger spinnerbaits, mag top water and big jerkbaits. Quote
adam32 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Yep it's definitely not a musky rod. It's a moderate action crankbait rod. I have one and i use it for bigger cranks. Quote
MNMike Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 Thanks again. I'm glad I made the purchase. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted January 28, 2015 Super User Posted January 28, 2015 I just bought an Avid AV70HM from the bargin bin on the St. Croix website about 3 weeks ago for $114. I don't know what you paid for your Premier, but you might be able to return it and but the upgraded Avid model of the same rod for less money. Quote
MNMike Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 I paid less than $114, but thanks for the heads-up. Quote
