fishinphilly Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 ive ordered a couple lures from academy before but i didn't know that they had there own brand and i was looking through them and the prices aren't that bad at all especially with VMC hooks, what do you think about their baits, have you ever tried them and how do they hold up? thanks tight lines Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted January 28, 2015 Super User Posted January 28, 2015 Have a few of their squarebill cranks, wakebaits, and ratletrap style baits. I have no complaints for the price of these baits as well as the color choices. 2 Quote
Super User tomustang Posted January 28, 2015 Super User Posted January 28, 2015 Their hard baits are truly a bargain Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted January 28, 2015 Super User Posted January 28, 2015 H20 makes some quality stuff. Their hard baits and frogs are great. Their ethos fishing rods are pretty dang good too... Especially since they go on sale for $39 all the time. 1 Quote

I trim the skirts down, and trim one side about 1/2 to 3/4 inch shorter than the other side. This helps them walk tighter for me. This is just my preference... Mine walked fine out of the package. I even do this to spro. What line were you using? Quote
Big Swimbait Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 The flat sided square bill is awesome. To me it's a SPRO for $4.00. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 28, 2015 Global Moderator Posted January 28, 2015 I've fished most of their hardbaits, their frogs, EWG hooks, tungsten, reels, and their rods, zero complaints with any of it. 1 Quote

kikstand454 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 In all honesty, unless I see a "premium" bait on clearence, all I buy anymore is h2o hardbaits. I have never had a single issue with one, and they're always dirt cheap. I catch ALOT of fish- fresh and salt- on their squarebill cranks. Quote
AllTerrainAngler Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 i work there. needless to say i never make it out of the store with money left. we had duckett micro magic rods go on sale for 39.99 not too long ago. THe hardbaits resemble a lucky craft. NOT as good of quality but when you can buy 4 h2os for the price of 1 LC its worth it to me. the frogs i've never had a problem with but i myself buy koppers frogs and mice over any other brand. i have 2 frog boxes. 1 of koppers and jackal the otehr h2o. no complaints with the h2o at all though./ 1 Quote
KentuckyDave Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Very good hard baits from my experience....only crankbaits I throw Quote
