Super User Sam Posted January 30, 2008 Super User Posted January 30, 2008 Any suggestions on how to remove a crankbait's bill? I want to remove it without damaging the lure. Thanks in advance for any help. Quote
BIG M Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 What lure are you talking about and a pic would be very helpful. Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 31, 2008 Author Super User Posted January 31, 2008 These are Mann's Baby 8, Minus 1 and another mid range diver. Quote
BIG M Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Cut the lip off flush with the nose of the bait and then cut a new lip slot. Now that's a simple version, you will have to make some adjustments as you go with this one. What are you hoping to achieve by changing the lips on those baits? Quote

Super User Munkin Posted January 31, 2008 Super User Posted January 31, 2008 Those baits are molded as one piece the lip and body are not seperate. You can grind down some of the lip to alter the action but not remove it. It would be easier to make a complete bait out of balsa than remove the current lip and replace it. Allen Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 31, 2008 Author Super User Posted January 31, 2008 Thanks, guys. I will not only give it a try by removing it but also get a crank and put the bill on it. Sam Quote
