Catch 22 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I don`t keep a log because I worry that my wife might find it I fish about 240 days a year +- Even though I get out a lot I usually don`t fish those crushing 12 hr days much anymore. After driving 3 hrs I used to feel that I had to get my money`s worth.I moved much closer to my water of choice, so now I average about 6 hrs on the water.I fish tide waters a lot so I may leave any time day or night.. I do travel some long trips so I usually have a buddy along to share costs and driving time. Being retired is great. How many days do you fish. C22 1 Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted January 27, 2015 Super User Posted January 27, 2015 When the ice melts before bass season opens I'll go 2-3 times a week. When bass season opens, I try to go as much as I can when the wife and kids allow me too. I'd say around 100 times roughly. Quote
papajoe222 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I probably put somewhere between 130-175 days on the water and average around five hours an outing I actually put more time on the water when I was working. I've slowed down in more tan one way. Quote
a1712 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 200+, like mentioned, being retired helps. I also fish a bunch of, launch in the dark load in the dark trips. I usually take the wkends off. Brian. Quote

Super User Lund Explorer Posted January 27, 2015 Super User Posted January 27, 2015 A whole whopping 21 days in 2014. Three spent walking on the water for bluegills/perch. Four days trolling for salmon/trout. One day dragging crawler harnesses for walleye. The rest were spent actually targeting bass. It's got to get better some day. 4 Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted January 27, 2015 Super User Posted January 27, 2015 7 days a week year round. Fish saltwater in the morning and freshwater in the afternoon. I could count on 2 hands the times I missed last year. 2 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted January 27, 2015 Super User Posted January 27, 2015 When the water is not frozen I will try and get out about once a week. 1 Quote
Super User Oregon Native Posted January 27, 2015 Super User Posted January 27, 2015 Not enough Yup Quote
nascar2428 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I average four days a week, three to four hours each day from the end of April to the end of October. Quote
doyle8218 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Almost every day but only a few hours a day. Quote
bassguytom Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I'm about a 100 times a year guy. I fish all year round and in between work and family I usually get out around 2 times a week. I fish a lot before or after work so I don't skip a beat. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted January 27, 2015 Super User Posted January 27, 2015 Every day or every other day in Spring/Summer/Fall. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted January 27, 2015 Super User Posted January 27, 2015 Wow....you guys fish a lot. I am not retired, and while I wish I could say more, here are the number for the past 3 years. 2012- 52 days 2013- 53 days 2014- 41 days Jeff 4 Quote
RAMBLER Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Since I retired I'm lucky to get 3 days a month. When I was 40 years younger and working two jobs, I fished at least 3 times a week. Most of the things that take up my fishing time are really self inflicted, time consuming projects and church. Once this kitchen remodel is done, I owe myself about a month of fishing non stop. Even though my wife and I are in our 70's we both say we need a full time job so we can get some rest. Quote
bassr95 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I always fish at least once a week, all year round. If I pull my boat up to Delavan (about an hour) I usually make a day of it. In the winter I go more often, but don't fish as long. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted January 27, 2015 Super User Posted January 27, 2015 Once we have open water, I go out quite a bit. But the bass might report that I'm only actually "fishing" about half the time . . . . A-Jay 1 Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted January 27, 2015 Super User Posted January 27, 2015 I made 2 casts today at 6:30 am, does that count, lol? Scored a nice snook on my first cast, tossed again and decided it was too chilly, I went home. Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I fish every weekend year round, sometimes both days and sometimes only one of the days. So I'd say I average around 75 times a year and anywhere from 12 hours per trip to just a couple. Quote
fisherrw Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I fish about 5 days a week in the summer... I'm in school in the spring:( summer and fall and winter so I probably only fish about 1 day every 2 weeks sometimes more especially in the spring. 1 Quote
DILLY07 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 During winter none. Spring/Summer/Fall. Everyday. Im only 23. I work at 4 am in the morning and get off at 1:30 to 2 pm everyday. Occasional Saturdays. Quote
Super User geo g Posted January 28, 2015 Super User Posted January 28, 2015 At least 300 days a year. Weekends from the boat in the Everglades. Weekdays from the bank after work. I am surrounded by a bunch of small lakes in the 20 to 40 acre size, all with a good supply of bass. Its great to live in south Florida! Quote
MichiganBass80 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Definitely not enough. We (my dad and I) try to get out at least once a week. I am lucky enough with work where I get 3 day weekends, so we are able to get out mostly on Fridays. Quote
corn-on-the-rob Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Some of the numbers you guys are saying are insane (200, 300)... I can't imagine actually fishing that much even though I would if I could. It is awesome that you do but the sheer amount is hard for me to fathom. I fish from late march to early November and go once a week most of the time but maybe twice a week a third of the time. So likely between 30-40 trips. These are all trips I consider to be a minimum of 5 hours of fishing upwards of 12 depending on the outing so an hour of pond fishing up the street probably add another 10. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted January 28, 2015 Super User Posted January 28, 2015 I may fish 300+ but I don't do it like I used too. I would cover the keys up to Hobe Sound for inshore fishing, go all kinds of places to do freshwater and get off shore couple of times I week. I stay pretty local now. Quote
