Bass Pro Goretex Bibs And Academy H2O Bibs

Please don't suggest cabelas since I have lots of gift cards at bps and Academy. What is the difference in the 100 mph and pro qualifier rain bibs at bps? And how are the Academy bibs that are seemingly similar to the bps bibs?

The 100 MPH suit is a little more "heavy duty" than the pro qualifier is.   No clue on the quality or comfort level of the Academy suit.   My two cents - do not buy one over the internet.   This is one thing that you need to make sure that it fits.  Go to BPS and try them both on.  Go to Academy and try on their suit.  Make allowances that you will occasionally have layers underneath the gore tex.  Again, if you are going to get a quality rain suit, make sure it fits.   It isn't something that you are going to wear all the time, but when you need it  you want it to be comfortable.

The 100mph suit and pro qualifier are both made out of the same goretex material, the 100mph suit just has more lining for colder weather. However I have found after wearing one that in any weather warmer than about 60 degrees I burn up in the 100mph gear. For this reason I chose to go the pro qualifier route and just layer up, this way I will have dependable waterproof rain gear that I will be able to wear during warm weather as well.

I love my BPS 100 mph bibs. The only thing I find wrong with them is that the reinforced knee area can pose a problem. The thread that connects the thick black material to the main fabric can tear under just a little pressure if you're bending your knee quite a ways (bending down for a fish for example).

Not entirely true my bps 100 mph suit is not insulated so it has no cold weather lining while my dads PQ suit is insulated and is much warmer then my suit depends entirely on which version of each suit you get

I have worn the H2O gear for 3 years now, and love it.   Waterproof, and very wind proof.   I have even used it as snow gear playing around with the kids the past two winters.   After plenty of use, they are still as good as new.

I have had the 100mph suit for a few years now. Knowing now what I didn't know then, I would have saved my money and bought the H2O suit. The zippers suck and I've had problems with the stitching on both suits (had to return the first one because my cuff of one of the sleeves had almost fallen off). It's not terrible and I'm harder on it than most, but for the money I paid for it I have not been overly impressed.

H2O bibs all the way. A fraction of the price compared to the 100MPH suit. It's the first real rain suit I've had aside from my cheap frogg toggs and I have been very impressed with them. They're extremely warm, which had me worried about wearing them in warmer weather, but I've found them to be fairly breathable.
