Cephkiller Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 I don't really have a panic box per se, but i will go with shakey head, Senko, Mepps in-line or original Rapala when the going gets really tough. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted April 24, 2007 Super User Posted April 24, 2007 #5 shad rap 5" senko (green pumpkin or watermelon red) 7" Power Bait worm zoom finesse worm on spot remover soon to be added to the panic box are the new Power Bait shakey worms Quote
Super User flechero Posted April 24, 2007 Super User Posted April 24, 2007 I don't actually have a panic box but in years past, my desperation move was go to a rapala CD-7 silver & black or a little trick worm on a spinning rod, in one of the clearish colors. This past year, it's been more of a bow my chest up response.... saying screw it and pulling out the swimbait or the lunkerlure buzzbait. I figure since I don't have a check riding on it anymore, why not throw something I enjoy using. The buzzbait paid off in a bunch of freak ways, the swimbait less often but it sure was sweet to break a bad day with a big fish. Probably not the response you were looking for but sometimes the best answer to panic is to "take 5" and have a cold beer. A bad day is as often mental as it is physical. Quote

Super User .ghoti. Posted April 24, 2007 Super User Posted April 24, 2007 Flechero, I like your style. If I fished tournaments, I'd probably have to get one together. It makes some sense. I do have a few go-to baits, but no formal organization of tough times gear. Go-to baits: #1 t-rigged tube with the weight inside. #2 4" Senko #3 Power worm on a jighead. #4 my "secret" weapon, a bunny strip fly on a dropshot rig. ( if you tell anybody about this, I'll have to kill ya ) Cheers, GK Quote
jomatty Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 i dont have a box specifically but i do make sure i have a few things that i consider panic lures. 4" senkos grubs on a jighead small willowleaf spinnerbaits basically if they wont eat a senko or a grub im in trouble. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 I don't have an actual box, but I make sure I have these lures at all times, no matter the conditions: Mepps Fury #3 or 4 Red, Rebel Crawdad matt firetiger, Trick worm style Yellow/Black Fleck & White/Black Fleck 7 inch floating worm(don't remember the manufacturer, but I bought about 15 bags of this 'spongy' bait before they went out of business), Matt Chartreuse Bagley Fat Cat 0-2 foot diver and 0-5 foot diver, Johnson Spoon Nickle Finish no trailer, Sluggo Assortment of sizes and colors, Rapala Countdown in a basslike photo finish that they discontinued a few years ago - I have 3 left.
