Joedodge Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 So me and my so. Fished a local canal here in fl today. It was unusually high, it is right along a gulf course. Man I could seen tons of bass of all sizes . Threw trick worms, yum dingers, and super flukes of different colors and different retrieves. And threw a rooster tail. Sun was shining 63 degrees out only got one to bite right in front of me at the bank but man I had to persuade him and let him have it and open the bail on the reel and let him swim to swallow it. A cool front settled in yesterday with some rain Friday. But man this was torture lol Quote

Megastink Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Torture? Try fishing Erie with a 25mph winds.... then talk to me about torture..... Lol, all kidding aside, that can be super tough. My best lockjaw bass baits are a swim jig or a trick work rigged Texas style with a nail weight inserted into the center. Or, try a wacky jighead and a 6" finesse worm. Good luck! Quote

Outboard was in the mechanic so I went out to a golf course pond which usually produces big fish. Seeing big fish all over the place. After an hour of no fish most fishermen would down size lures, I normally would do that also but this time I tied the biggest fluke I had the 7 inch magnum weightless... I think I could've caught every fish in that pond.. Ended the day with a lot of fish and even more questions. I wondered why they would hit the bigger presentation if they were so sluggish and lethargic to begin with. Quote

Mass Bassin' Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 when I see them but cant catch them I throw weightless trick worms and finesse worms, this usually works to catch cursers. If you see fish on top there will usually be fish below them and the fish below are more inclined to bite. Good Luck!!! Quote
