Winter is in full effect for some across the nation. When it happens to me here in WV while fishing is slow I research and try to gain as much knowledge as I can. I also make a tackle list that I try to add to each year. I currently have four lures I'm about to either grab at Cabela's or order online.

My short list is this:

Rapala BX Waking Minnow (Shad or Blue Herring)

Storm Wiggle Wart (Shad or Crawfish)

Koppers Live Target Golden Shiner Lipless Crankbait

Spro Little John MD or Baby in Shad or Crawfish

What is on your short list? Anyone fish any of these with success?

Been catching about 80% of my freshwater fish on a Storm chug a bug and 1/4 oz roostertail, just replace when needed, getting a little low on 4x #4 trebles.   Stocked up pretty good on other items.

I'm going to pick up some under spins. Likely swarming hornets and stick some Reaction Innovations little dippers on them. I'm pretty set on everything else. . . For now

Ya, I'm gonna pick up a few. Figure I'll like them, judging by some buddies success.

Just about anything from Megabass, I just have to force myself to buy something first

Seriously, my list is empty. Of all the additions I made last year, only the StrikeBack spinnerbait showed me something different that was a genuine improvement over existing lures of the same style.

Just make sure you do the modification to the joint to make them swim better.

I'd like to add the Spro Rat to my list along with the Hudd Gill :)

I also want to pick up some Megabass wild headers. I thought they were coming state side according to Icast.
